My steepletone jukebox is making a crackling noise through the speakers while on the radio and playing cd's. Similar sound to fluff on the needle of a record player but its not a constant sound , every 3 minutes or so. Ant ideas please as its driving me mad :-( Cheers Kev

SOURCE: No sound coming from turntable

most likely this is the switch that selects among cd/tape/radio/record player. it could be the preamp circuitry in the player as well. it would not be the cartridge UNLESS you cannot see a little rubber 'seat' up inside underneath the cartridge that pushes the stylus tip out and down towards the record just a bit. if this rubber 'yoke' (seat) is missing you will get no sound even when you touch the needle tip when the record player section is selected.

SOURCE: nad cd player cd541i noise

Hi...
That one is going to need Tech service.

I've worked on several of the NAD players.

Sounds like a focus or gain adjust needed.

I need to find a replacement glass for my steepletone i rock 1-cd jukebox iv tried contacting steepleton they dont stock them any other places i could get it from ?

Is it a flat sheet of glass? Make it yourself from Lexan Polycarbonate Sheet, Plexiglass. Mark the shape on the paper covering, cut it with a jigsaw or a scroll-saw, smooth the edges, remove the paper and install it.

Are your speakers factory? Sometimes the wires start corroding from moistures or from not being covered well. If you can or know someone who can, you may try checking the wires to the speakers/radio. If they are corroding, they may be shorting out.

No sound on 2710 Wurlitzer

Find the input to the amp from the tone arm. Play a record and while it is playing unplug the tone arm input. Stick a paperclip in the input of the amp...if it doesn't go HUMMMMMMMMM.....you have a dead amp....or the speakers arent plugged in.
