SOURCE: need code for Sony BDP-S350 for a Dish Network 622 remote

We would be happy to help you with that. Here is a list of codes that should address your DISH Network remote to your Sony Blu-ray player: 629, 671, 868, 617, 501, and 768.

Press and hold the DVD/VCR button located on the top of the remote until all the mode buttons at the top of the remote light up, then release. Use the number buttons to enter one of the codes for your Sony Blu-ray player, then press the pound (#) button. If the code entered is valid for the remote, the mode light flashes three times. I don't know what kind of TV you have, but on some TVs the HDMI inputs have to be enabled via the TV setup menu. Try looking at the setup status.

I turn on blu ray player and it goes to the regular sonybluray screen and as soon as disc starts to load, screen goes dark and no picure but I can see its playing by the counter

Try updating your player's firmware. You can download the firmware file from sony's website. The blu-ray players require many updates because the blu-ray discs have format changes and special numbers that the player needs recorded into the firmware so the newer movies will play. Here is a link to the download page for the BDP-S300 player. http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=BDPS300&LOC=3
You will need to select the download for your operating system. Then you will need to burn the files onto a cd-r disc using the "burn image" option of your burning software. Once the disc has been made you can load it into your blu-ray player and then update the firmware. once updated it should bring your player back up and running again. These players require periodic updates. The newer players that can hook up to the internet update automatically when hooked up to the internet.

Blu Ray player turns on, displays "Welcome on the screen. After disc is inserted, "Wait" appears on the the screen and then it freezes. What is wrong?

This sounds like your Sony player is not reading the disc.
I have bought faulty DVD discs before that have given this same fault!
- I assume you have tried a disc that you know works in another DVD player?
Remember, your Sony Blu-Ray should be able to play ALL REGIONS of standard format DVD discs, so you should get sound & images from any one you choose.
