SOURCE: Installing the Lowrance HDS 5

You do not need the data cable connected unles you are hooking it up to other electronics, ie computer, second GPS sounder ect. You only need to conect the red to the positive on the battery and the black to the negative.

I am trying to wire a typical programable thermostat to a split type air conditioner.... the air condiontioner is a Coolmart 2 ton (24k btu) split type

Hello, you need to run 2 wires, one from the y terminal and the other from the c terminal on the control board in the Furnace to the outside unit contactor. At the contactor just hook up each wire to one side of it. At the thermostat you need to hook up a wire to the Y termimal.

Heat pump wont start

When you are testing the contactor on a coil, you should remove the tstat wires then hook up your voltage meter to the wires then turn on your tstat check the meter to be sure u are getting 24 volts.

If you are getting 24 volts, put wires back in place on contactor then measure voltage across the contactor to see if you are getting 24 volts. If there isnt 24 volts then the contactor coil is bad and needs to be replaced.

I need to put a 24 volt coil relay in my furanace for an EAC and I'm not sure how to hook it up. I'm guessing the low voltage wires from the thermostat (w & b wire) will go to coil side and...

Electricians don't guess, they test.
Usually 'relays' used for HVAC are called contactors, for some reason.

1) 24Volt wires connect to coil. Make sure contactor coil is rated 24Volts or 24vac
Coil terminals are typically located on side of contactor.
Usually you can see small copper wires from coil that are soldered to these terminals.
Test across terminals with multimeter set to read ohms, and you will get ohm reading of coil.

2) The 120V or 240V wires connect to terminals located on ends -or- on top of contactor.
If there are three terminals, then check these terminals with multimeter.
Push down contactor to simulate the contactor turning on and off.
Hold contactor down and test terminals again.
And compare test results with same test from old contactor being replaced.

3) Open following link to see typical 24V coil contactor with DPST with 2 NO contacts
The contactor shown in diagram is similar to your contactor, except the contactor shown has 4 terminals for 120V or 240V. This is why testing contactor and comparing with old contactor is necessary.

Where to connect blue wire on a 16 seer Westinghouse condenser unit. It has 3 low voltage wires a black a yellow and a blue.

If you have 3 wires hooked up to the indoor unit, you need to read the terminals to which they
are hooked to. On the outdoor unit you need to see on the electrical print where the low voltage
wires should go. However it is uncommon to have three wires, 2 wires is common..

For instance, on the furnace if Black is connected to Y terminal then black at the condenser
would go to one side of the contactor. If Yellow is hooked to C terminal at furnace, the
at outdoor unit Yellow wire would go to other side of contactor. If Blue is not Hooked to
anything, tape it off.

You posted under PB digital timer module.
This timer can be wired different ways and with different voltages.
Contactors (relays) can be wired different ways and coil voltage must match timer voltage.

Which order to hook wires back up to comp pgb series36100 comp b9266-606

I'm assuming you want to wire the compressor up to your a/c.
R or run goes to one side of the contactor, there will be a wire on that side of the contactor going to the run capacitor.
C or common will go to the other side of the contactor.
S or start goes to the run capacitor the opposite side from the wire that's coming from the Run side of the contactor.

The outside fan motor (OFM) will not turn off.

it sounds like your fan connector is on the same side of the contactor where your high voltage enters you should have 3 wires 1 wire for each pole of the contactor and 1 wire off the capacitor does the compressor run all the time too? try turning the power switch off on your indoor air handler / gas furnace if the power goes off the fan goes off then it could be low voltage wiring

Carrier A/C units

Double check that the new contactor has the same electrical ratings on it. My guess is that the coil should be 24v while the relay should be able to carry the same amperage at 220v.

First shut off the breaker and disconnect switch for the furnace and outdoor condenser and call a licensed HVAC contractor:)

If you are determined to do it yourself, Then read the schematics first. Be aware, if you mis wire the system you may cause more damage than you have now. Not to mention your personal safety is at risk.

I am basing this on the most common style contactor found in my area.

The main relay side should be labeled. (eg. L1,L2-T1, T2). These should match exactly like the old one. L1 and L2 are the incoming power. T1 and T2 are the power leaving the contactor. All the 220v wires should correspond to one of these four terminals either by screwing them down or fitting the spade connectors together.

Usually the 24v wires will plug onto the coil (near the bottom, left and/or right sides of the contactor) silver spade connectors.

(STEP 1.) Leave all Wires Connected to your Old Contactor.
(STEP 2.) Remove the two mounting screws that hold the Old Contactor to the Air Conditioners casing.
(STEP 3.) Now Install the New Contactor to the old contactors existing location using the Same two Screws.
(STEP 4.) Now take Off one wire at a time from your old Contactor and Install each wire one at a time to the proper location on the new Contactor.
