Won stay running

Needs a carb adjustment, cleaning, or possible rebuilt. Try adding a little seafoam and running at half choke for about 5 mins or longer this may clean it up nicely. also check the spark plug.

I have read another solution which may indicate the light engine has failed and will likely need replacing. The cost is quite expensive. $1500 range and apparently the part is no longer available from LG. Best you might do is get an estimate to repair just to be sure.

I turn on tv shuts off after 30-45min. red lite goes dim

It's likely that the TV will require service since your troubleshooting steps didn't resolve the problem. If your TV is smaller than 30", you may carry it in to the retailer of purchase for repairs. Otherwise, service for your TV can be obtained by calling 1-888-237-8289 in the U.S. or 1-866-237-8289 in Canada.

Sony kp61hs30 standby/timer lite flashes 8x and tv shuts off

The 8 blinks usually mean that there is a problem with the high voltage section of the set. This can be the flyback transformer or other parts in the same horizontal circuit. This is not a repair that I would suggest be attempted by non-service personnel. Expect a parts cost in the $100-$150 range plus the local labor rate.

Sony trinitron,standby lite flashes

Hello mybuddydakot,

This is an indication that the shutdown circuit is functioning which means there is a high current event happening in your set. I would venture to say that the problem may be in your high voltage section. I would suggest that you take the set to a qualified TV repair shop, due to the nature of this possible problem.

The High Voltage section is dangerous and should be worked on by a person who has knowledge of television electronic technology.

I hope this helps,

I have searched high and low in all the documentation for your T.V., which is why it has been so many days since you posted your request for assisatnce.

Have you tried turning the TV on with both the remote and with the buttons on the TV? I'm betting you have, but I need to ask.

I would suggest that you unplug the TV for at least 24 hours to completely clear the memory of everything. This might reset the unit so that it begins working again.

However, my bet is that your power supply is dead so that it cannot power up the TV at all. Unless your TV is still under the warranty I think the only options you have are to either have the TV repaired by an authorized servcie technician or to buy a replacement TV.

Sorry I don't have better news to offer you.

Well, not completely true; the fluorescent backlight is still a high voltage device, even if only hundreds of volts instead of kilovolts, and either the lamp(s) or the power supply for it (them) is causing the dropout of your picture. When it does it next time, look at the screen from various angles, I think you will see that video content is still there.
