Would Roku work on HPw1907 with sound?

The monitor has speakers, and both a VGA and DVI-d port. I would prefer to hook up the roku using a HDMI/dvi converter, rather than getting a roku with a VGA connection. Any idea if the sound would go through to the monitor speakers?

Some of the options you mentioned will carry audio along with the video from your Roku to your monitor but not the VGA for sure it's just video on that cable. I think your HDMI/DVI converter might work though. Worth a try anyway???
Let us know how it goes? We can all learn something here.

How do i get the netflix app on my soniq tv please

That really depends. Just saying you have a Soniq TV is not much help because the different models have different capabilities. Is it a "Smart TV", if not does it have a HDMI port ? If not, does it have a DVI or VGA port. In order to install an app on the TV, it needs to be a smart TV, if not you can do it using a Chromecast or Roku device plugged into a HDMI port or a computer connected to either a HDMI, DVI or VGA port.

Can I hook up a HP L2245wg monitor to a Hp envy laptop

Probably not very easily. The monitor only supports VGA 15-pin and DVI-D video connections. Although you don't specify which ENVY model you have, most only have HDMI and/or DisplayPort outputs. You would need an HDMI-to-DVI-D adapter/converter for the video, and, of course, DVI-D and VGA do not support sound, although it appear the monitor does not internal speakers anyway. You would be better served using a monitor with HDMI input(s) with this device.

I have a raspberry pi 2 and i want to connect it to this monitor emprex 1704 it doesn't have a dvi, hdmi port or a vga?

Wait, the monitor does not have a DVI port, an HDMI port, or a VGA port?

The only other option I think the monitor could have is S-Video or composite, which would be astounding if that's the case. You can use a HDMI-DVI converter from your RasPi to get out to DVI, then a DVI to VGA converter to get to VGA, but I'm not aware of a VGA to S-Video or composite converter.

Xbox360 to pc monitor

HDMI to DVI works better than HDMI to VGA because VGA only uses simple RBG scheme.

Additionally the only way i see the Xbox getting connected to the extrenal speakers is if you get the speakers connected to the monitor/tv or whatever you are using directly. I havent tried or do not know of any way to connect the Xbox to speakers directly.

How do I connect my iMac 27" i7

You can buy an optional cable that you can plug into the mini-DVI or mini-displayport port at the back of your iMac.see example picture on: http://www.ecoustics.com/electronics/products/new/570842.jpgFirst you need to be sure to know exact if you have a mini-DVI or mini-displayport. The connectors are different and depend on how old your iMac is. Than you can buy the connector that fits your Mac. The you only need to check the connections on your TV. HDMI or DVI will give the best image quality. VGA is older and will result in a lower image quality. Last, you need to buy a cable between the adapter and your TV.

I have internal speakers on the monitor and I can't get the external speakers to work. There are no troubleshooting directions.

Hi,

Try to check what type of connection you're using if its HDMI, DVI or VGA. If happens you're using HDMI it has a capability to give sound you just have to check the settings on the monitor or on the pc tower unlike the VGA and DVI you need to use speaker jack to have a sound on your monitor.

My DVI has no signal but my VGA does! what do i do? Please help me!!!

Your HP2009M monitor supports (3) methods of accepting signals from a computer. They are: 1) VGA, 2) DVI and, 3) HDMI.

You would connect the computer to the monitor using one connection only. Generally the VGA is the least desirable as it is an analog signal. The DVI and HDMI method provide digital paths into the monitor and often perform better. Your computer may only offer 1 or 2 connection choices, so you'll have to choose a cable type that is supported by both the computer and the monitor. The HDMI choice will pass audio signals to the the speakers in the monitor without needing to run a second cable between the stereo audio jack of the computer and the audio input jack of the monitor (located next to the HDMI jack) or to a set of external speakers (unless of course you prefer the external speakers).

The message you're seeing is normal. Once the monitor is connected to your computer, there will only be one active selection; VGA, DVI or HDMI. Since you're using the analog VGA jacks and cable, it is expected that you'll see a message that there is no signal present on the DVI (and HDMI) inputs when attempting to view signals on other inputs.

I hope this helps and good luck! Please rate my reply, thank you.

There are a varity of HDMI cables, ensure that your version is supported also using the input touch "button" to change the input through VGA, DVI and HDMI.

If your laptop has a VGA port, your Vizio needs to have a VGA port too so you can use a standard VGA monitor cable.

If your laptop has a DVI port, you hook it up to the Vizio using a DVI-to-HDMI cable.

And if your laptop has an HDMI port, you hook it up using a standard HDMI cable.

Hope this helps.
