Kevin:
As a certified technician since the late '80s I've never seen a portable (laptop) computer that could be upgraded excepting hard drive and memory upgrades (short of purchasing a new system board from the manufacturer - cost prohibitive). IMHO that is the single biggest shortcoming for portables. That issue also applies to many name brand desktop machines too. Only the top end (gaming) machines have the better GPUs. I've worked on only a few Acer machines; but, it's highly unlikely it's GPU can be upgraded. To determine your machines exact system information go to acer.com at the below link. Enter your SNID (located on bottom of your machine).

If you want a machine that is upgradeable instead of just replaceable consider manufacturers such as ASUS

The hardware requirements for Minecraft can be found at the other link below.

All that being said, a memory upgrade to 8GB (if your machine will accept it - see System Requirements link) might get you some performance boost.

Sorry I didn't have better news for ya.

How to change graphic card?

firstly you need to determine if it does have a dedicated graphics card or if the graphics are on-board, as in the case of the latter you cannot change the graphics card and this means it could require a new motherboard or processor (in the case where graphics may be integrated into the processor) or both and even if it does have dedicated graphics card they are not easy to find replacements for, and will require taking the laptop apart, there are places you can send them to be repaired in a lab and this is probably your best option if it is actually broke, if you were hoping to just upgrade your existing card then it is highly unlikely you will find one that fits as even dedicated cards are not universal and specific to the make and model of the laptop itself, in rare cases where upgrade options were available for the laptop when new you may find one with much searching, but as a general rule of thumb if a laptops graphics goes kaput then it is usually time to throw it away and buy a new one, or if this is not an option then sending it away to a lab to have the components replaced is generally the only option, i have in the past found people offering this service on ebay, hope this helps

HOW TO FIX ERROR 80070002

The problem is with your graphic card G33/G31. Since its an Integrated graphic card you need a dedicated GPU to run games on decent settings.Earlier i had the same graphic card and i can only play games from 2005.This GPU is too weak to run such games. I suggest you to buy a new dedicated graphic card.

What is visual graphic acdactor ,and the freze

A video card (also called a video adapter, display card, graphics card, graphics board, display adapter or graphics adapter) is an expansion card which generates a feed of output images to a display. Most video cards offer various functions such as accelerated rendering of 3D scenes and 2D graphics, MPEG-2/MPEG-4 decoding, TV output, or the ability to connect multiple monitors (multi-monitor).
Video hardware can be integrated into the motherboard or (as with more recent designs) the CPU, but all modern motherboards (and some from the 1990s) provide expansion ports to which a video card can be attached. In this configuration it is sometimes referred to as a video controller or graphics controller. Modern low-end to mid-range motherboards often include a graphics chipset manufactured by the developer of the northbridge (e.g. an AMD chipset with Radeon graphics or an Intel chipset with Intel graphics) on the motherboard. This graphics chip usually has a small quantity of embedded memory and takes some of the system's main RAM, reducing the total RAM available. This is usually called integrated graphics or on-board graphics, and is usually low in performance and undesirable for those wishing to run 3D applications. A dedicated graphics card on the other hand has its own Random Access Memory or RAM and Processor specifically for processing video images, and thus offloads this work from the CPU and system RAM. Almost all of these motherboards allow the disabling of the integrated graphics chip in BIOS, and have an AGP, PCI, or PCI Express slot for adding a higher-performance graphics card in place of the integrated graphics.

Can this model play minecraft? I keep getting a black screen

It is graphics related. The graphics card is not compatible with Minecraft, from what I can tell. I believe the Toshiba is running an Intel integrated card and Minecraft is looking for an ATI or NVIDIA.

Hope this helps

Was wondering if it can be replaced with a better graphics card

This depends, mspolar1.

Depends on;

1) If it's a Desktop computer, or a Laptop computer.

Desktop computers may, or may not, come with Integrated Graphics.
For those desktop computers that do Not, a graphics adapter card is used.

(Graphics adapter card is also referred to as a Graphics Card, or Video Card)

Desktop computers that Do come with Integrated Graphics, will also have a graphics expansion slot to install a graphics card in.

2) Laptops generally just have Integrated Graphics, BUT there are some models that Do have a Graphics Card, and there is the possibility of upgrading to a better one.

The above relates directly to Toshiba desktop computers, and laptops, as well as a reference to all desktop, and laptop computers.

To explain Integrated Graphics:

Another name for Integrated Graphics is OnBoard Graphics.
ON the motherBOARD.

The graphics chip is soldered directly to the motherboard.

[ Chip and Chipset are slang terms for I.C.
Integrated Circuit,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Integrated_Circuit

A graphics chip has a GPU on it,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GPU ]

Integrated Graphics borrows some of the system's resources.
The Processor and Ram Memory.

The Processor and Ram Memory are trying to take care of the Operating System, and the program that is being ran.
Two Operating System examples are Windows XP, and Windows 7. An example of a program that may be borrowing system resources heavily, is a game.

If an intense game is being played, the system resources cannot keep up with the demand for graphics, when Integrated Graphics is installed.
(Slow frame rates, or freezing. Poor graphics. Even with low settings)

A dedicated graphics card borrows very little of the system resources, or none at all.
A graphics card has it's own Processor, and Ram Memory.
(GPU and graphics ram memory)

In direct reference to Toshiba laptop's, post the laptop Model Number to see if the graphics can be upgraded.
There are some Toshiba laptops where this is possible, and some that are not.
(Post in a Comment)

The one's that use Integrated Graphics, and no dedicated graphics card, are the ones that cannot be upgraded.

Last year both my sons bought an eMachine, EL1300, desktop PC. I am looking at upgrading the processor, the Motherboards are both WMCP61M's. I was wondering if I could replace the existing AMD Athlon...

I would suggest you not to go for a processor upgrade, if you want to play games. You should consider upgrading your graphics Card(GPU). The processor that you mentioned above is enough for playing High-end games when combined with a good graphics Card. Upgrading your processor will boost very little game performance. But when you will upgrade your graphics Card. You will notice great boost in game performance and more new games will be supported. Two major manufacturer of Graphics Card are NVIDIA and ATi. You can opt any one of them. Nvidia GPUs are considered as a Good Performer. But also ATi is known for its long lasting life. Both the manufacturers produces a long list of models. Opt for the one that suits your Budget and the performance.
Hope this will help for sure.....

Hello i want to know what the difference between an integrated video card and a dedicated video card, which has more capacity and what is best for play the latest games

Integrated generally means it is part of the motherboard and not a removable card. Integrated can also mean a card that does multiple tasks like Graphics & Modem & Printer. Dedicated would indicate a removable card that does only graphics and not other tasks. A dedicated graphics card would almost always work better. They have more capacity and work faster.

You can add a graphics card to pretty much any newer computer fairly easily now days. Check your computer manual to be sure what type of video card you will be able to use.

"Call of Duty" runs in slow motion on my PC.

Hi thomas,

Upgrading video cards will definitely increase in performance. You asked whether you should upgrade your entire PC or just the card and that really depends on the hardware you are running. If all of your hardware just barely meets the requirements than upgrading the videocard WILL give you a noticeable improvement but obviously it will not be as good as getting a better CPU and more RAM as well as a new card.

A good measure of a cards performance is based on the series of cards it is from. Your Geforce is from the 6000 series of Nvidia cards, they have 7000, 8000, and even 9000 series cards atm.

I would recommend something like an XFX Geforce 9800 GTX+ series card with 512MB of onboard memory, or any other competing card in the 200$ price range. This will definitely give you an increase in performance, and is a very popular card.

Hope this helps and please take a second to rate!
