SOURCE: No ice...different question
Are you able to see if you can push a Q-tip or something up the fill tube line to see if it's frozen up inside there. It happens on certain units. You may need to take the Ice Maker out (easy) to get to the fill tube.

When you open the freezer door the light should be blinking. When you hold the flipper door shut (on the left hand side) without blocking the beam, the light should stay on solid. If all of this happens then the optics are o.k. If optics are ok then you most likely have a broken motor module on the icemaker and should replace the icemaker thermostat along with it. A bad icemaker thermostat will lead to the module breaking. If you not sure how to replace these parts then I would just replace the whole icemaker. That would be easiest and usually not much more expensive.

I don't have a wiring diagram for this machine so I can't be specific, but I may be able to offer a few suggestions. Check for voltage on the coil by slipping the two wires back off their coil connections you should be able to expose enough of the connection to measure voltage. If voltage exists when machine should be filling, you either have a bad coil, or water is not reaching this point. Check coil resistance by removing wires and testing coil. Resistance reading of 0 or O/L (out of range) would be grounds for replacing the coil.
If coil tests good, look for plugged water filters on water line leading to machine.
Hope this helps,

put an amp probe on common wire at compressor and see what amps are when it tries to start. 40 to 60 is mechancially locked up compressor. kill power and test start and run capacitors. there is an thermal temp over load on the compressor that opens when comp gets hot from trying to start. gently remove and look for cracks or burned looking. . i saw one this week doing exact same and i have ordered the oem compressor start cap realy and run cap and drier and will put in all new gas. be sure to allow sufficient time when switched to ice for it to get to ref cycle, it may take 5 minutes starting with water purge, then fill, etc. good luck, call hoshizaki dist they are usually pretty helpful if you need a auth service rep in you area. i think they are three years warrantied!
