Psr s 910 keyboard. Why does it turn on for 5 minutes, then turn off?

Be sure to use the original adapter and still in good condition/normal.
Have you tried, at the time after 5 minutes then turn off, and then you restart immediately, the unit is turn ON again? Or is there a time lag to ON, after power-switch is pressed?
Errors like this one,may be due to defective adapters (works only for a moment, after being hot, stop sending voltage), and can also be caused by damage to the regulator section in PSR910.
To check this, it must open/disassemble the PSR910.
"Do not do this if you are not experienced in electronic repair.
Leave it to the experts."

At Yamaha PSR S950 keyboard, there is a setting "AUTO POWER-OFF" in the UTILITY menu.
This setting function is To prevent unnecessary power consumption. It will Automatically turns the power off if the instrument is not operated for a specified period of time. The amount of time that elapses before the power is automatically turned off can be set (default setting: 30 min.). The setting is retained even if the power is turned off.
At the PSR-S910, this function does not exist.

Is it normal for a thump when turning on active mackie speakers

Yes, it's normal. You can probably turn the speaker volume down to minimum before turning them on to minimize it.

Marshall mg100fx treble knob does not automatically kicks in when amp turned on?

Are you old enough to remember when amps were all linear? Well, this is a computer. I haven't seen the schematic, but I'd guess the knobs are not connected to pots, but rotary encoders which send signals to a processor board to change settings. So, it's either a bug or a "feature" that causes these settings to start at zero when you boot the machine. You may be able to store all the last settings in memory so they start there.

There is a "Main L/R" button which most people have pressed to enable
the main speakers. Turn off the button. Then turn the unit on.

Then turn on the button again. Solved this issue for me.

Is there a fuse in this amp? is it replaceable without soldering?

Hi, blowing a fuse in an amplifier is a problem that most guitarists face at one time or another. If an amp won't turn on, or it turns on for a second, then makes a popping sound and turns off, the problem is usually a blown fuse. Though a blown fuse can be a hassle, especially during a performance, it does not have to put a stop to your musical enjoyment. With a spare fuse you can be back jamming to your favorite tunes in no time flat.

Things You'll Need

Fuse.

Instructions

Turn off the amplifier and unplug it from the wall.

Locate the fuse, which is usually found at the back of the amp. The fuse will look like a small black wheel sticking out of the amp with a number and the letter V next to it. For example, 9V.

Gently turn the fuse counter-clockwise to remove it from the amp.

Discard the old fuse.

Insert the new fuse into the empty fuse slot and turn it clockwise until it is firmly in place.

Plug in the amplifier; make sure the power switch is in the off position.

Turn the amplifier on to make sure the new fuse is working properly.

Hope it helped..

Hey . uhm just wondering does anybody have the problem where when you turn your amp on nothing happens .. everythings gone ..but when i turn it off i can hear it turn off .. it clicks when i turn it off ...

Wonder no more, there are many others with many different brand of amps that do this. Obviously it needs repair unlless you have a problem with the cable or source you are using or have forgot to turn up the gain controls which I am sure you have checked. There are so many possibilities that there is no way we can say open it and replace this... If you get a small pop in the speaker when you turn it off, then the power portion of the amp is probably OK. A common probllem on amps that have a preamp out or power amp input jacks is a failure of the switch contacts on the crummy jacks that pass the audio through from teh preamp to the power amp...

I have a Korg C-15S Piano that i just recently changed the fuses to becasue it wasnt turning on. After I changed the fuses it turned on for a bit and was working great. Later when I tried turning it back...

Unless you are adept at electronic repair, this is probably NOT a DIY thing for you. Likely there is a problem in the power supply of the unit. Replacing the fuse MAY have blown something open for a bit but there is a residual problem thaat needs to be repaired. You MAY be putting the expensive portion of the unit at risk by replacing fuses while problem still exists. I would have unit repaired ASAP. If you do not have test equipment, then the ONLY DIY repair for you would be to replace the power supply as a unit rather than bad components. This MAY be the most economical solution for you.

Amp doesn't do anything.

If you hear a pop when you turn it on and the squeak when turning off most of your amp is probably working.Depending on whether it is a tube or solid state amp there are several things to consider some being as simple as a deadLED or bulb in the pilot light and a defective input jack to as complicated as a dead power supply to the preamp circuitry. If you are not familiar with safety procedures and electronic trouble shooting and have no test equipment and the schematic you might be better off having it serviced. Here is a link to a troubleshooting guide:http://www.geofex.com/ampdbug/ampdebug.htm A lot of the info can be applied to solid state amps. Hope this helps.
