Question about Pentair Minimax NT Heater
I on the other hand, have found just the opposite of the previous answer. The minimax NT, Has been a very decent heater for my customers.
A lockout, is really a very simple problem to find. It is due to Not having the ability to ignite the raw fuel, that is coming out of the gas valve. So if you are getting a walkout, and everything is fine, except for the problem, you should be smelling a very strong gas odor.?
if you are, then that tells you that sensors are good, and the gas valve is good and the ignition control box is good. You probably have a bad hot surface igniter. Replace it and you should be good.
You can confirm this safely: first shut off the gas on off valve near the year. That will stop gas flow. Now after you have turn the power off to the heater for a minute or so, turn it back on and create a call for heat. You will hear the fan blower motor engage, but if you seconds later you will hear a click that will be the relay in the ignition control Module or Grey box sending power to the igniter, you will then see a bright red glow, or you 'should' see a bright red glow in the heaters burner tray area.
Then you will hear a slightly louder click which is the gas valve opening, sending Raw fuel to ignite with the bright red glow. But there will be no ignition because you have the valve turned off, this is for safety reasons. And that you're going to have the exact same problem after a few attempts, which is going to be a total of three attempts before the heater goes into a lockout mode.
but the purpose of this test, is to see if you achieve the bright red glow? If you don't, then you did confirm that your hot surface igniter, has failed, and needs replacement.

Turn it off at the black toggle switch inside the front panel or turn it off at the breaker for 2-3 minutes
Then try again.
Check that flow is good, gas is on ect...
Is it saying lockout on the display?
If not then as you fire it up after cutting power keep the panel off and watch the ignition control red diagnostic light.
The blinking sequence of that light should point you in the right direction. There is typically a label that will tell you what the blinks mean.
Minimax nt heaters are on borrowed time, and in most my Delong with them once they start having an issue it will never end , basically they are lemons and replacements for them is very common
