Question about Kocaso M1050

1 Answer

When I try doing a hard reset. I can not get it to boot beyond the green Android guy. It shuts off or will not get me to the choice menu. Any suggestions?

To do a hard reset I have tried holding power and volume up together, power and volume down, Power, volume up and home, even tried power, volume up and menu.

On an android tablet of mine I have to hold the power and the volume (-) button down at the same time and keep holding them for about fifteen to twenty seconds until finally a menu with green text comes up. To select the text option I want, I have to scroll with the volume (+) button and when I'm on the right option I have to activate it using one short push of the power button.

The option I choose to do a hard reset is *wipe data/factory reset*. On my tablet, when I choose and activate this option it takes me to another screen with about six lines of *no no no* text and one line of the reset option. I have to scroll to the reset option using the volume(+) option and again use a short push of the power button to activate it. Then, it does it's thing and turns off. I then give it about ten seconds and then I hold the power button down for five or so seconds and it then it reboots to factory fresh condition. It takes a couple of minutes to get it done I guess because it's reloading all the apps, etc.

I too have been holding the same keys. However like any other android system, it does not do the same. It will get to the green adroid and rather than show the red exclamation it continus on to Kocaso logo and to login password screen or shuts off abrubtly. Any input?

I have two more suggestions since what I first suggested didn't work for you. When you get the android, let go of both buttons and wait to see what happens. It might go on to the administrator options menu where you can do a reset/data wipe. Or, you can try the reset button, if it has one. Usually it's a small hole you can stick a paperclip in to gently click a button. Do the reset button when you see the android then wait. It should shut off. It it doesn't start up automatically within ten seconds, then start it by pushing the power button as usual.

How i unlock my tablet?

There's a hard reset process on the G2 7" that I have used successfully on several stuck units. It may also I've learned work on other models of Trio tablets and other Android-based brands / models as well. It did on a Zeki 7" 8GB that I owned as well. But.... TRY AT YOUR OWN RISK. Here it is.
(1) PRESS AND HOLD the power button until the tablet shuts off completely.
(NOTE:
if any type of start-up screen comes on, FORGET it: the Tablet must be COMPLETELY powered off for this to have any chance of working.)
(2) PRESS AND HOLD the volume-down button, while simultaneously PRESSING AND HOLDING the power button
This will (hopefully) bring up the Android figurine, along with some kind of rotating-wheel graphic.
(3) Do nothing else but WAIT, until the screen changes to a text-based menu, with about 6 to 8, or more choices.
(4) Use the volume-up and volume-down buttons to navigate between choices, and select (highlight) the choice offering to reset the tablet (to Factory Settings).
(5) Click and release the power button to start the reset operation. Follow and additional prompts to ensure you are selecting the correct next step.
This RESET process will erase ALL your installed apps, as well as delete all your saved photos, music and other user files and preferences (including wallpaper, time-zones, Wi-Fi settings etc. But when it works it will give you back a working Trio. Use your reset Triot carefully: generally, I'll say the Trio machines are good economical alternatives to the perhaps more robustly engineered (and much more expensive) big brand items.

Regarding restoring personal preferences, and earlier installed apps I have no experience whatsoever. However there may be sufficient arguments to backup your personal data either on your home computer or on online "cloud based" services. Do the research, ok?

I cases like this you might not have a choice but to factory reset to fix the start-up error. Repeat a hard reset (Vol up/Power button) and make an effort to get to the tablet Settings after boot up. Get to the Settings>Backup & reset>Factory data reset. In the majority of cases a factory reset will resolve critical issues. This is thought of as a "nuclear option."

If this nuclear option fails then a more complicated process that's beyond this post is to consider installing a custom Android ROM after rooting the device. XDA has a forum discussing rooting and installing custom ROMs for Stealth tablets: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=34126848

Good luck.
