I think you'll find that you can download it from tomtom home, with full technical help online & on the phone.
I dont advise COPYING it from a friend as you will get a symbol appear on the screen with a tomtom SD card with a large red cross through it, indicating that the tomtom knows its not a genuine copy.

SOURCE: Want to unlock europe maps
There is a way to unlock even though it's pretty complicated for many I have done it.
I don't do it anymore because it's illegal and it's hard and it takes more time but I guess that you are going to give me good grade so let's get started.
1.Open a new tab on your browser (Internet Explorer,Opera,Mozilla,Firefox)
2.Type in the adress bar www.thepiratebay.org
3.In the search engine type in Garmin (and the map) for ex: Garmin Eastern Europe
5.Wait 3 seconds
6.Click download this torrent
7.When you're done downloading you have to open the rar file.
8.Click Exctract to...
9.Plug in your Garmin to your PC (PERSONAL COMPUTER) with an usb
10.Find the drive for ex. E: SD Garmin
12.Wait until the WinRAR exctracted all the files
13.Then go to ThePirateBayOrg again and type in garmin keygen
15.Run it (open it)
16.Write down you device code 8letters
17.Press enter follow the keygen.exe instructions and then dissconect your device
18.And I guess you know hot to power on your device
Hope that's not so hard (kitting)
I'm gonna watch your grading

Connect the GPS to the computer. Forget the Tom Tom home for a little while. Use the windows explorer or file manager. Check whether the TomTom is shown as a drive. If yes, Right click on it. Then click properties. Check how much is the used space and how much is the free space. If you see that there is only about 50MB free space, that could be the reason. Tomtom update do not seem to overwrite the map file. Now check the properties of the new map file. It may be approximately around 1.3 GB to 1.5 GB. Since I do not have a Europe map I do not have the correct size. If the new map size is anything bigger than the available space on your GPS drive, then the update will not complete and crash. Solution. Copy the existing map (North American map has a name something like USA_Canada_and_Mexico_P) folder to your computer. Once you have a secure copy, delete this map folder from your GPS drive. You will now see that you have approximately 1.7GB of free space. copy the map folder from your CD to your GPS drive. Once copying is complete, safely remove the GPS from USB port. Restart and try it out on a known route to check efficiency.

The software for Binatone Sat Navs is not free. You could always contact the retailer if they mis-sold this item to you. Alternatively, for an update call/email Binatone and they will send an SD Card to you for around £32.99.
