After booting up there was problems with the login. I got on and now the cursor is frozen. Is there a switch or a magic key that turns it on and off?

Hi Julia.

Have you tried restarting your computer? The manual for your device shows there's a keyboard command to turn the cursor on or off.

Fn + F6

I've attached the manual for your reference, below:

Hope this helps!

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Try uninstalling the drivers for the mouse first, then reboot to see if that works. Don't worry, the drivers will reinstall automatically upon reboot.

Hope this helps. :)

First of all provide detail when does the cursor freezes after booting to the desktop or before and if after are you able to use it after booting to the desktop?
Try to boot in safe mode and check if it works fine then problem is either with your hardware or one of the third party applications or start up items assuming Microsoft and Computer first and second party

My computor seems to have frozen up the cursor is not moving

You should try starting in safe mode. Shut down the computer completely - switch of - wait a minute and then switch on...

To get into the Windows XP Safe mode, as the computer is booting press and hold your "F8 Key" which should bring up the Windows Advanced Options Menu . Use your arrow keys to move to "Safe Mode" and press your Enter key.

Once you are in safe mode you shold be able to investigate the problem.

Let me know how you get on.
