Hi Kenny.

If the old ones work, I'd recommend just leaving them as is an not updating.

Hope this helps!

Go to Windows Updates and see if there is an update their sometimes that happens with drivers. Start there Updates and install all the updates hardware updates as well. If that does not assist you there may be a fix at the Sony Vaio support drivers and download for your driver start there. I would download the driver online for the wireless software. No sound devices detected after hp update

you can try and do a system restore to before the new updates were installed, or you can go to hp's support website and look for your model laptop and download the newest drivers. i'm trying to determine if you have an hp or an asus, since you listed under asus. either way find out what sound hardware you have and download the new drivers or try system restore.

My daughter laptop inspiron 1520 cant connect to the internet , she updated the wireless driver and since then it wont work , uninstalled and install old driver , no matter what i try it will not work ....

Click start and type restore in the search box.
Select an earlier time to restore to, before the upgrade.
That should return the laptop to a point at which it works again.
Hope that helps.

Hey there.

Yes, that would most likely be and I'm 99.9% certain it's a driver problem because of the issue you are having.

You either have the wrong driver installed, no driver at all, or the driver is corrupted or needs updating based on a compatibility issue.

Youcan check if you are missing drivers by going to Start>(RightClick)My Computer>Properties>Hardware>Device Manager. If yousee any drivers that are yellow or with a ! those are the drivers youneed to find, download and install.

First, before you do as a safety measure Create a Restore Point. Just go to Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore. Follow the instructions and create a restore point. You can recover your machine by restoring it to a restore point.
You can find information on System Restore here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/helpandsupport/getstarted/ballew_03may19.mspx

Now,plug in your laptop with the Ethernet Cord and go to...

Windows Updates ~ When you go to Windows Update, do not "Express"update, rather "Custom" - Once it has loaded the screen, on the lefthand side you will see hardware. Download the hardware drivers there. They work 98% of the time, and Windows Update is pretty good now daysso it might fix your problem easy. You will be looking for something around the words "Wireless Driver Device" or "Intel Wireless" etc. Download, it'll install, restart your machine. Give it a go.

If not, searchhttp://www.driverguide.com/ and look and download them manually, or thefree program I use to get information on them, and for the program toidentify what driver your missing, and give you the information to lookfor it on the manufactures website, is DriverMaX
http://www.innovative-sol.com/drivermax/

If after these steps, nodrivers needed updating, and nothing was needed to be installed or the fault continues to occur pleasedo clarify it & with detail and I will assist you further otherwiseit should fix your problem!

Good luck!

Printer causing program issue's Oki 5200n

If the printer drivers are the issue, you may need to remove old traces of printer drivers from Server Properties. In the printers and faxes menu, go to File -> Server Properties. On the drivers tab, make sure all past drivers are removed from this list as well. You may find it won't let you on some of the drivers. Stopping and starting the Print Spooler service can often clear any holds you run into.

I have xp and seem to have the same connection problem following SP3 updates as everyone else ????

you have two options:

1. set your PC to an earlier date prior to installation of the SP3 update by activating 'system restore' in the control panel. once restored, set your Windows update to custom settings so you can manually choose which updates to install.
2. upgrade to Windows Vista.

Wireless Adapter not working under Vista

Some device may not have Vista drivers or the drivers are still beta and they dont work always perfectly. Check which kind of wireless adapter is present on your laptop from device manager on XP. Then try downloading Vista drivers for your wireless adapter form wireless card factory website, and install them on Vista.

Device could not be started

This sound like its a bios problem, check in the bios F2 or Del on boot up and look in the menu for your internal wireless adapter as it may have been dissabled. This is the only way your notebook can possibly have to keep installing it, as the device is there but not being recognised next time you boot, check to see if the cmos time is correct, as other things may be incorrect. The only other thing is that the card driver is not correctly loaded as when the pc boots it should find the hardware then install the driver for the wireless reciever straight away, if its asking for a driver then the driver has not been registered in windows and cannot be found.
