The blade release should be under the heel of the blade, just below where the blade tongue hinges. You normally only need to press it when removing the blade, when snapping the blade shut it is mostly not necessary to push it. They are a bit like a door latch that self lock when closing.

Unfortunately unless you are trained as an installer of Potterton equipment you will not be able to get any advice from Potterton, they don't even supply direct to trade, everything is supplied through nominated suppliers, ie; Plumbers merchants.
This programmer should be quite easy to install I would have thought, in general all remote programmers have a mini wiring diagram on the back of the unit, though this will only show connections for the programmer outputs, ie heating on/off and water on/off.
If you require a wiring diagram for a complete heating system, you need to know the type of heating plan you have/are installing.

I have just googled this and you can actually purchase from Amazon (not that I would do myself, I would use the merchants) there is a wiring diagram on the site. Just google Potterton EP6002, it comes up straight away Good Luck

I only found one PDF file online and it was a general book that showed how to wire most of the wire systems and controllers.

hope this is helpful. On my potterton 24 combi boiler it is the valve that sits the lowest, with a slight indent in the black tap. if you turn this for a short period you will hear a hiss and the pressure will quickly build to the desired pressure, when you can them turn the tap back off.
