SOURCE: How to remove a chuck from a DeWalt hand drill

Open chuck all the way (like for a large drill bit). There should be a set screw at the bottom (where you would put a drill bit). Don't turn too hard - it may be a left handed screw (I don't remember if it is a lefty for sure but try gently each way then with a bit more force each way until it moves).

Good luck.

No. It will probably charge but you will significantly reduce the life of your battery.

Can a 18.4 be used in place of a 14.4?

The question is very broad, but I can provide a generic answer. A DC motor will safely run on slightly higher voltage. 18.4 volts vs. 14.4 volts qualifies as slightly higher. The motor will run a little faster and have a little more torque. The important question is charging the battery. Lithium and nickel-metal hydride batteries require very different charging strategies. Batteries must be matched to a specific type of charger.

Need a battery charger for the 21.6 volt battery

It will work if it is of the same charger/receiver style. The only issue is that you will only be charging to 19 volts and not 21.6, I would estimate by doing some simple math that you would lose about 6-8% of the batteries capacity but you would be able to use it.

I can't remove my rechargeable battery to charge it

There are 2 small latches, one on each side of the battery.  You must push these in while pulling down on the battery to remove it.

Here is a link to the user manual if you need more help.  It provides an illustration of the method on pg 14.

There is a yellow light flashing and battery not charging. I bought a second hand battery charger and it doesn't seem to be working either as there are no lights lighting up. Is there any way of testing...

the charger has three out points the one on the left at the side combined with the point at the back should be putting out 14 volts if not the charger is dead as for the battery the pack needs to be pulled apart and a test done on them that needs a tech with the proper equipment

hope this helps please remember to rate me

My new Black Max 24v drill charger will not charge the battery

You indicate that the drill is new. I'd suggest you return it for a replacement. Seems to be a defective or wrong charger. If you have problems and If you paid by credit card call the card company and have them stop payment on that charge.

I have a mikita 12 volt and when I charge it it wont hold charge.

do you have a volt meter toi check the charger voltage? if so then read the voltage out of the charger, it should be 1 or 2 volts higher than the listing 12v would be 13 or 14 volts. if it's working you probally do have a bad battery. if the charger is out then you have a bad charger.

Can a bad ryobi 18 drill ruin a new 18volt ryobi battery

If the drill has a short in it, then yes, it could short the battery out. Probably in the trigger switch.

I have two 14 volt DeWalt batteries that won't hold a charge and I have been told these can be resurrected. Is this true? Where or how can I get this done?

You'll need to do it yourself-dis-assemble the battery and check each cell individually to determine the bad ones. You can purchase replacement cells very inexpensive.
