Probably. Most are plastic today because they're cheaper.
If they fit and work, go ahead.

Most bobbins are interchangable, the main difference I'd the depth of the bobbin. As previous answer says plastc as used because the are marginally cheaper, but also because you can see what thread is on the bobbin and how much is on the bobbin.
i am assuming you have been given or have some metal bobbins from another machine, as long as they are clean and rust free and the same size they should work fine.
