Can you give me any idea of the value of a Singer Manufacturing Company sewing machine, G2775438, with cabinet? Also, any idea of the year it was made?

The G2775438 was built in 1913, according to the Singer database: http://www.singerco.com/admin-support/machine-serial-numbers/single-letter . This serial number is for a Model 66 (built after March 19, 1913). The value depends on the condition and the specific cabinet and accessories that are with the machine. A worn model 66-1 with a basic cabinet is ~$50. The higher end cabinets can raise the price to $125. (Those were the prices ~10 years ago.) Someone wanted $175 for an advertised good condition model 66-1 with a really good cabinet on Etsy a few years ago.

I hope this helps.

I am sorry. The 60629850 Singer Sewing machine was told to me that it was born in 1884 not 1883! Please help me find a manuel for this machine in original condition!

In the 1900s there were no manuals as the seamstress would be taught how to use the machine the shop selling the product. A Singer sewing machines are all very similar and an older seamstress would be able to share information, I would have thought.
There may be someone here willing to help;

Value and age of Singer Sewing machine?

This may help:

Singer Sewing Machine Company Serial Numbers

If it is the K number, there were 20,000 machines made. So, the likelihood is that there are still a lot of them around. Value is very subjective based on several things including the physical and mechanical condition, accessories included, rarity of the model, etc. FWIW, it seems that the wood cabinets really don't appear to add much, if anything, to the value.

Friend died. Has this machine, how much would it be worth? how do we tell how old it is?

First, you'll need to find out the make and model of the machine. After that, it's a matter of determining what physical and working condition it's in, whether the manual and what accessories are included, whether it has a carrying case, etc. Price is mostly subjective since it is usually based on the make/model, age, condition, usability, accessories, location, and overall public demand. Used sewing machines can be priced anywhere from $1 to thousands. Older Singer sewing machines are very common so the prices are generally lower for lack of demand unless it is a specific model, ie the Featherweight is coveted for its transportability and stitch quality. Machines in cabinets are usually more difficult to sell, etc. However, if it is something like a Bernina 830 Record, an Elna Jubilee or Grasshopper, or a Husqvarna Class 10, it could be worth more because of its desirability.

However, some sewing enthusiasts just want a good, solid machine that works.

You can probably search the internet for similar machines that have sold or are listed for sale to get an idea.

I have a singer sewing machine that was my great great great great aunts I wonder more information about it the serial number is G1548891.

the singer site on the web has a page of photos of old sewing machines and the history. compare your machine with the photos .. to be 4 generations old I would expect it to be a treadle machine with leather belt drive
if it has a rod attached to the foot platform that would ,along with the cabinet or table , get a good price
the value in that case will be in the table that it would have come with as well as the machine it is possible to contact the singer customer service as well and they may have a value available for you.
I would expect it to be up in the $5000.00 to $10.000 bracket depending on the antique demand at the time

Who uses a Singer 6235? How would you compare it to the Futura II 920? Anyone know the original retail price of either machine?

THE SINGER 6235 ARE BOTH GOOD. I'VE LOOKED AT THE FUTURA AND BELIEVE IT IS NEWER THAN THE 6235. THE FUTURA WILL GIVE MORE CHOICES OF STITCHES. EITHER ONE WILL BE A GOOD PURCHASE. EITHER ONE WILL BE HEAVY SO YOU KNOW THERE IS A LOT OF METAL FOR LONG LIFE. THE ORIGINAL PRICE IS HARD TO FIND OUT. IF YOU WANT TO KNOW TODAYS SELLING PRICE YOU CAN CHECK EBAY FOR A GOOD INDICATOR. THE PRICE AT THE TIME YOU ARE SPEAKING ABOUT MIGHT HAVE BEEN AROUND $200-$400.

How to put a singer style-mate 347 into a singer cabinet

There are these things called sewing machine hinges. They have a round fitting that slip in to the cabinet and a shaft that fits into the machine itself. I've seen other styles as well. Examine your singer cabinet for 2 circular holes near the back of the spot where the sewing machine hits. You'll need to measure those holes. then find the correstponding holes on the sewing machine casting. You'll likely need some set screws as well.

Here is an etsy listing for a sewing machine hinge that someone has made a steampunk necklace from. LOL Really. At least it's a good photo of what a hinge looks like.

Singer model 2818C manual - mine was burned in a house fire

I found a partial manual for the 2818C available from Google: www.disivenca.com/manuales/Manual%202868.pdf . This version has English, French and Spanish instructions. This site has the English version of the manual for sale: http://204.197.251.177/document.php?iddocument=Dwf39dudee#.UKgnUjmk5G8 .

Many Singer sewing machine manuals are available for purchase or free download from Singer here: http://www.singerco.com/accessories/instruction-manuals . However, the site didn't list the 2818 or the alternative model number of 2868. (If you go to a Singer dealer, you may be able to get a manual for a reasonable price. Other sewing machine dealers have done so for us.)

I hope this helps.

Changing sewing machine in cabinet

Is it a flatbed or a free arm machine? Flatbeds have fixings on the back to attach them to a cabinet so they can drop down inside. A freearm doesn't. From what you say about it being a different shape I really doubt it. If your new machine is a freearm you need to use it on a flat surface-if its a flatbed and has a base you should be able to install it in a cabinet or use it on a flat surface.

Need user manual and list of included parts for the Singer 7436

A phone call to a Singer dealer to say you are interested to know which accessories are included with this model will solve the second issue, as to the manual, is the time spent not having one plus the savings you made on original purchase really not worth $15 ?

Sew4Less, or SewUSA may have one, but they will charge....if it is a recent model, the chances of finding a second hand one are remote, and eBay will have machine with manual.

Try the place where you bought it to be certain they don't have the old one kicking around in a dusty corner, or would photocopy one for you ...........a new machine ought to be sold with a manual.
