Well.. starting from the beginning:
What it is?
BCD is short from Boot Configuration Data. It is in use by latest Windows operating systems (Vista, 7, 8). BCD is a dataholder for operating system loader winboot.exe. (In XP there were boot.ini storing data for NTLDR.exe)
given 0x error code refers to communication error between BCD and winboot. (typically either one being missing or mislocated or inaccessible)
How to fix that?
first it depends on your expertise level.. there are several automatic and manual options available. There are no guarantee for any of them - it depends where is the problem actually located.
Though the solution prior mine might have already helped i'd like to share another point of view:
1) run Windows 8 installation DVD and choose "Repair your computer" option (or if you mistakenly chose install press shift + F10 and choose from an elevated menu command prompt)
2) when prompted type 'Diskpart'
3) Type 'List volume' and note volume no of ESP (EFI System Partition). If not present check for 'system volume'.
4) Type 'assign letter = z'
5) Type 'Exit' to exit diskpart
6) Type 'BCDBoot c:\Windows /s z: /f UEFI'
7) type 'exit' and 'reboot'
If there's no help from commands above enter command prompt using official windows CD (either installation media or recovery disk) and enter following commands one by one (hit enter after each line):
Bootrec /fixmbr
Bootrec /fixboot
Bootrec /scanos
Bootrec /rebuildbcd
Receiving errors at any stages specifies the initial problem..
