Scanner not communicating is a different problem. Check if you can talk to any of the other modules (engine, body, etc.) Check all of your fuses with a voltmeter. Also, if there are ANY ABS or traction codes, the sequence cannot be initiated. Diagrams can be obtained from any shop with access to info and they could print it out for you (maybe a small charge)

2006 Chrysler 300C - lights dont turn on regularly with auto set or manual. Is the light sensor swith on the dash here & that would be only relevant in auto mode, correct. The lamps DO NOT work every time...

Without testing we'd only be guessing . complex electronics involved , control module's , serial data communication network's etc...The switch is a input to the instrument cluster microprocessor which is hooked to the C.A.N - controller area network serial data communication network for the computers on the vehicle . This problem would take research , factory service repair information. Hooking up a professional type scanner or the factory tool ,checking for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble code's in all the modules on the vehicle ( 20) or so. Viewing data parameters on the scanner. With the complex electrical an electronics on your vehicle it could be a lot of different thing's .
Looking at wiring diagrams show's the complexity . free wiring diagrams here Enter your vehicle info. Year , make , model an engine size. Under system click on lighting ,then under subsystem click on exterior lighting .Click the search button then the first blue link . View the diagrams an see if you can make heads or tail's of them.

A Controller Area Network (CAN Bus) is a vehicle bus standard designed to allow microcontrollers and devices to communicate with each other in applications without a host computer. It is a message-based protocol, designed originally for multiplex electrical wiring within automobiles, but is also used in many other contexts.

Im getting a U1040 code- (loss of communication with brake control module

Loss of communication with brake control module is exactly what it says. There is a problem with the wiring harness that goes to the ABS controller. You might make sure it is plugged all of the way in. You might also unplug it and make sure there is no corrosion or damages pins in the connector.

Odometer has warning code what is it no bus5

The bus is the communication interface between the many modules or computers on your vehicle. The engine and transmission modules need to be able to communicate with the cluster as well as the airbag, antilock brakes, and body control module to turn certain lights on and make gauges function. "No bus" means the communication line is either open or shorted and the cluster can't determine the inputs from the other modules. Any given module on the vehicle can pull the bus down as well as wiring. It is most likely a module causing the problem. One way to find the culprit is to disconnect each module with the key on until the odometer comes back to life. If it starts and runs, drives and shifts normal, I would do the engine and transmission last. I would start with the ABS and overhead console (if it has one). I hope this helps.

Airbag light wont go off for hynadai acemt

The communication with SRS CM (Supplemental Restraint System Control Module) is proprietary - Hyundai Dealership Scanner equipment. Best solution: Take the vehicle into a Hyundai Service Center (dealership), pay the diagnostic fee. They will tell you EXACTLY what the problem is and what's needed to fix it (parts, labor, tax, time-frame, etc.).

You need to bleed this system with the special tool that holds the ABS solenoids open, it plugs into the ABS brake controller, if you don't do this there is no way to get the air out of the system, that is why your pedal is low.
