Uh.. so what ca i do to fix my monitor if it has gone bad?..

Many people have problems determining if their monitor is bad or their video card is bad. One good way to test this is by swapping out your monitor with a friend, co-worker, or family member with a known good monitor. You can do this with either your computer tower or your monitor. Follow the two steps below:
1. Take your computer tower and plug it up to a known good monitor. If the computer boots up with no problems and you are able to see everything on the known good monitor, then your monitor is bad.
2. Take a known good monitor and plug in to your computer system. If the computer boots up and you are still having problems and getting a black screen or some message saying "no signal" then your are having problems with your video card.

Some common symptoms of a monitor going bad are as follows:
1. A humming or buzzing noise coming from your monitor.
2. Picture fades in and out.
3. Colors appear in various places on your monitor screen that normally would not be there. Most common colors presented are red, green, or a mixture of the two.
4. Picture presenting either light or dark and will not change no matter how much you change the color or tint setting.
5. Lines appearing on the monitor screen. These will look like the lines on a bad television.
6. Monitor takes longer than normal to present picture. This time can vary depending on how old your monitor is and how far into the malfunction phase it is.

Since your monitor works off the same principles as your television set, most the time it will present with the same symptoms as a television going bad. I hope this helps in your troubleshooting process to determine if your video card or your monitor is the one causing the problems. These symptoms apply to the regular monitor only and not necessarily an LCD monitor.

Bobcat t190 problems

Possible capacitor if screen flickers in any such way.
(sorry I'm not much help with this one)
If replaced, will need programming and hours entered.
If not replaced. sounds like its bios or startup is affected by either a loose wire, sensor of some sort, loose ignition, or capacitor inside has a rounded top (crowned)

My samsung t190 is flickering. i've tried updating the driver, change the cables, tried to plug it to another computer, it still turns on and off. and the language option appears everytime it turn on.

Contact an authorized Samsung dealer.

Go here for Samsung support, change the country if you are in the UK, then type in the serial number for the product. In this case T190. Here you go

How do I remove the case from my Samsung Syncmaster t190 monitor? I removed the screws from the stand, but I can't get more than the bottom loose.

Hi,
my daughter's 3 year old SyncMaster T190 monitor developed a fault last week -it switches on ok, perfect display for about one minute, then the screen goes blank. It's the same with either DVI or VGA input.Switching off for a few minutes enables the display again, for about a minute.
Other Samsung monitors exhibit similar faults, mostly due to blown Capacitors. So, rather than junk the T190, I decided to open it up and check for damage capacitors.
But how to dismantle it? After spending over an hour searching the web, without success, I had another go.
Here is how:1. remove the foot dish (undo butterfly screw at bottom)2. swivel the remaining stand post RIGHT back, as far as it goes (it may be quite stiff, I had to use WD40)3. stand the monitor on its top edge, you can now see 2 small cut-backs on the post, where it enters the monitor case4. use a small Philips screwdriver and remove the two screws hidden there5. remove the screw holding the two cover halves of the post together6. remove the covers7. the metal core of the stand, with its hinge part, is now exposed8. pull this out (NOT easy!); the part inside the monitor is shaped like a spade and is a very tight fit! I tapped it with a small hammer while pulling hard.9. when it is removed, you can access 2 screws that hold the bezel and housing together.10. gently insert a small flat screwdriver all along the four edges of the bezel and snap it apart11. the remaining parts can now be dismantled; some cables need unplugging (make a note of polarity!)
If anybody needs more information, please email me, I have taken some photos
PS - all capacitors were ok, I've no idea what's causing the fault.

Hi there, i have a samsung t190 and it keeps twitching!

You can have intermittent open wires in the cable. Try new cable yet? Unless there are bad solder joints where the connector is. Or it can be something in the logic board.

Try to check connectors including ribbon wire and try to trace some possible lose connection especially for with add on ckt. Try also to re-solder pins on hot area.

Monitor Problem

1. Try using a different media player like k-lite windows media player classic or GOM player.

2. Is the lcd set at it's native resolution ? Set it to native resolution.

3. Has the driver for the lcd been installed and does it show up properly in device manager ? Install the lcd driver if applicable.

4. What are your system's specs, especially graphic card ?

5. Has the latest graphic card drivers been installed ? Install latest drivers.

6. Does using VGA or DVI make any difference ?

7. You would've probably already checked windows media player settings.

Hopefully some of these will solve the problem.
