Question about Samsung Televison & Video

1 Answer

I have a Samsung un46f6300 smart tv, and the sound cuts in and out every other second. It happens when I stream videos via youtube, use my blue ray player or any other input devices. Even on the startup screen. I've tried seeing if it was a loose cable connection but after realizing that it happens during the startup screen, I came to a conclusion that the problem is elsewhere. I tried connecting a external speaker to the TV's speaker output plug, and had set it, and the issue went away if I was using it that way. I've had the main board replaced a year ago for a different issue, but can it be the same part causing the issue??

Check the speaker/s. If found OK; check and replace the damaged component/s at its audio output section circuit board. If needy, replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. Search the site by type in the "brand name" to your device; in the "Search box at the top right of the display window of the Homepage" to get gathered related posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

SOURCE: lose audio to receiver when connecting component video input

I don't know if it's firmware or hardware, however, it is NOT a problem, it is the DESIGN -- and an asinine one at that.

Essentially due to copyright issues with HD video, they CAN NOT decode the video to an analog output source. That's all fine and good, however, the audio never fell into that copyright issue. So you should be able to carry though the audio signal from those sources (since in the case of the component input, they're analog anyway). I think Hitachi is the ONLY company that just disables ALL analog outputs when it senses the video signal on the component or HDMI inputs (and you have the tv set for that input). They really should have ONLY disabled the video.

I had a half hour conversation with customer service, begging them to 1) file a complaint to fix this in the next firmware version, or 2) let me speak with an engineer to give me a hack -- obviously they didn't do that :(

The funny thing is, they WILL allow the Optical Audio output signal to carry though.

I've now been frantically searching the internet for information on how to bypass this ridiculous design 'feature'. As this TV isn't that popular, there's not much info out there on how to do so. So, I wouldn't know if I can simply try to attack the firmware code, or, if I actually have to take off the back of the TV and muck around with my soldering iron -- I'm hoping firmware.

One test shows that the control signal to SHUT OFF the entire analog outputs (audio and video) is on the 'Pb' (blue) input of the component video. If I have that one cable pulled out, I can get the Audio out to work and hear everything on my external stereo -- obviously I have a completely jibberish and unwatchable picture though. Once I plug in the 'Pb' cable, the picture comes in, obviously, but the external stereo sound cuts off.

At any rate. Just to reiterate, it's a design issue, and Hitachi seems unwilling to address the HD video copyright issues any other way. I am going to obviously send them a letter by mail telling them how their 'sledge hammer' approach to this issue is ridiculous when there is a 'scalpel' approach that is completely legally viable -- and all their competitors do it that way.

For this reason I now regret buying this TV.

SOURCE: 42LG50 TV - Intermittant sound problems with blu-ray HDMI input

You say this doesn't happen on regular cable or when playing a regular DVD. Hmm. Is this Blu-Ray player connected by simplink? HDMI is a bi-directional format cable, so  there are cases in setups where your tv can send commands to your blu-ray player and vice versa. It could be a problem with your blu-ray player that it is sending for some odd reason a mute command to your tv. Or is processing a command that your TV interprets to be a mute command when playing blu-rays. Because if it was the TV itself chances are you'd see this when watching a normal DVD or on cable as well. Since you say you're not, it leads me to believe the issue lies with the blu-ray player itself.

SOURCE: When i try to play a Blue Ray DVD, the LG LCD tv

Pickled! You did right by checking the cables, the tv inputs and as well the output on the blue ray...even by replacing the blue ray. Which leads to a problem within the tv monitor. I can only guess there is something in the software of the tv that is causing the problem. I can only suggest two options. If can connect the tv to a network via CAT5 cable, you can do a frimware update to the tv. Sort of like a software update. If it is not available, try to swap the HDMI cable for the 5 RCA component video. It will still carry HD signal, just not as crisp as the HDMI. I would be floored if the same thing happened with the component cable.

I would call the front desk. They usually have a maintenance person who can help you with the connection. If the TV HDMI port is not functioning, they may be able to swap tv's or move you to another room! Good luck!

What is the best and most cost effective way to stream WIFI to UNSMART Samsung HDTV?

Suggest getting all the smart TV functions from a upscale blue-ray player.

If you buy next generation BD player then replacing TV in the future you would have a compatible BD player such as function etc.

Samsung has many types and for example the BD-J6300 has near-4K Upscaling Wi-Fi and 3D Blu-ray Disc Player has plenty of features.

Hope this helps?

If you already have one of these smart Blu-ray players, you may not need an additional streaming device. Game Consoles: PlayStations 3 and 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, and Wii U all offer streaming basics: Netflix, Amazon Instant Video, YouTube and Hulu. Xbox offers the most-64 channels including HBO Go, Showtime Anywhere, Starz Play, CBS Sports, MLB.TV, Nat Geo TV, Vudu, Sling TV and many others.Smartphones, Tablets and laptops: If you have a newer smartphone and TV made by the same manufacturer, there might be a screen mirroring setting such as Samsung's AllShare or LG's Miracast on both devices. This enables you to cast whatever's on your smartphone to your TV. For laptops, just plug it into your TV with an HDMI cable. Or, if you want to go wireless, check to see if your laptop and TV support WiDi, Wireless Display.

i am trying to figure out what you are asking, you asking how to record a program on your smart tv, but i sony dvd & blu-ray play.

Bush 4.1 sound bar cuts out, connected via optical sound cuts out it is intermittent, happens on tv, dvd/blue ray and media player setting. Any ideas how to stop this happening. Have tried rca cables etc

I get a similar issue from my Bush sound bar. The sound drops out when the tv programme/movie etc has a period of silence in the audio track or just very low background music (no speech). As soon as someone begins to speak it starts up, but usually it misses the first couple of words. Bar is connected directly to a Samsung tv via the optical cable. Any ideas?
