I have a Whirlpool Duet washer. The add garment light is on. The door does not lock when press start. doesn't matter what cycle I try, washer will not start only beep and flash lights.Tried unplugging

If the door lock is not engaging the control will not allow a cycle to start as a safety precaution, so the door lock assembly will need to be replaced if the door will not lock. You can order the new door lock assembly from the link below Genuine 8182634 Whirlpool Washer Door Switch Assembly eBay

I can't get my GE range to self clean, I keep getting a F91 error whenever I try to clean.

Unfortunately, the F91 error indicates that the door lock is not functioning or the signal that the door is locked didn't get to the control unit. The range will not begin the self-clean cycle if there is a chance that you could open the oven door when the oven is dangerously hot.

First try cycling the power by unplugging the range (or turning off the circuit breaker). Next check if the lock has engaged. If the lock doesn't engage, check if the mechanism is bent or binding. Next check the wiring to see there is damage that will prevent the communication between the control board or the door lock. Check for corrosion at the wiring harness connections.

If the error happened after doing a self-clean, I'd suspect the door lock hadn't released. That can be related to a damaged over-temperature sensor or the lock itself. If the range has been self-cleaned before, it's possible that the lock was broken after forcing the door to open after that self-clean cycle.

You may need to replace the lock, the wiring or the control board. Please add a comment with the model of your range for a parts diagram. If your range is under warranty, contact GE.

I hope this helps.

CFEF372BC2 - Oven Door Locked

I would replace it. IF you unplug it and set it to clean it is a hazard if someone opens it. If the safety feature is working it should not self clean with the motor unplugged anyway.

Why is the Pyrolitic feature not working on my Hotpoint oven

Since there are very high temperatures involved during oven cleaning, most ovens have a safety lock that must be engaged before & during the cleaning process.

If you are engaging the lock before cleaning, you may have a faulty safety switch.

I started to clean the oven and just befor the lock locked, I checked inside. The oven door now is stuck and the lock engaged. What can I do?

Hi

Try switching the power off at the wall switch and then back on again. It may be that you also have to wait for the oven to go through the clean cycle as it is safety locked during auto clean.

My oven door will not close it has a lock button showing can't cancel

make and model??
is not actuallly physically closing??? perhaps the lock/ latch has partially engaged prevetning door from closing, and with the door oopen it cannot do anything for safety reasons. can you see a door /light switch thtyou can depress by hand??? if so push and hold it in the light should go out, and at this point continue to hold in switch and try starting a self clean cycle ( dont worry it wont actually start cleaning right away)it then should activet the latch assy to fully engage and suppoedly lock door, still depressing the button then press thecancel button and the latch should return to the normal resting position and you can close the door
