Question about Husqvarna Garden

1 Answer

I put a new battery in my riding lawnmower. I reversed the negative/positive wires. I attempted to start it and it made a screeching sound. I changed the wires to the correct position, but it won't make a sound. Did I kill the battery or do something worse?

Hi Becky:
Check to see if you can find a fuse and with any luck it will be fried and replacing it will be your fix. You shouldn't have harmed the battery. If you have a voltmeter available try tracing the power to see where is is, and more importantly where it isn't. Where these two meet will be the problem.
Hang in there.

How did I get my troy bilt lawnmower in reverse

If it is a riding mower 1st depress the clutch, lift the mower blades to the up position then move the shift lever to R. It will stall and shut off if you attempt to go into reverse with the blades in the cutting position.Mine has reverse on the fly but I never use it. Hope this helps.

I just replaced the battery but it will not even attempt to crank. Could there be a blown fuse?

I know this might sound silly but make sure you check that positive and negative are correct, and try putting a jumper cable from the battery to something raw metal to see if you have a bad ground. And last thing I can think of is the switch or the wire connection to the switch.

I have a riding lawn mower the wiring shorted out now the starter turns the wrong way

If you replaced the battery make sure the post polarities are the same as those of the replaced one. These lawnmower batteries, of the same physical size, are available 2 ways. one has the positive terminal on the left side and the negative on the right side. The other battery is exactly opposite. Interchanging them often requires you to buy longer battery cable for one side, while the other cable becomes excessively long. In most cases it's easier and cheaper to get the original configured battery as a replacement.
Check your connections if you've already done some wiring repairs. I can think of no other reason for an original starter to turn backward unless the wiring from the battery is reversed or the battery is the wrong configuration as above. Good luck.

Need wiring diargram to reverse motor c218-314c, 220vac

If your electric motor is turning wrong, check the polarity on the battery with a voltage meter. Reversing the + positive connection with negative will cause the electric motor to turn in reverse direction.

I purchased pioneer speakers and am attempting to replace my stock speakers. Problem is there is already a plug and outlet on the factory speakers, which there is not on the new speakers. is this called ?...

yes they are called speaker harness adapters. You can just cut the factory ones off if you know the polarity (positive/negative) of the speaker wiring.
An easy way to find out is take a 9v or AA battery and two pieces of wire. Strip the wire and attatch one piece to the positive and another to the negative of your test battery, I use red wire for (+) and black for (-). Then take the other ends and touch the factory speaker connector (where it plugs onto the speaker). If it moves out or UP then you have the polarity correct and the wire that your red tester went to is the positive of the new speaker and the black test lead wire touched the negative. If the speaker moves in or DOWN then you simply have it reversed.
All pioneer speakers come with a set of wires so you can cut the factory connector off and put the new one on.

I have a riding lawnmower. Troy-Bilt Bronco. It

check the battery i.e. load test it they dont last long, most of 2 seasons, then if this is o.k. clean all terminals as any corrosion will cause this also and make sure all connections are tight,it doesn't hurt even if theres no corrosion to loosen and re-tighten all connections

1999 ezgo golf cart.need to know the whole wireing system for this cart. I put new batterys in and ihave a short somewhere cause know it want do nothing.the reverse beeper want come on nor will the cart...

When you removed the batteries, a certain procedure MUST be followed. Key switch off, switch to tow position and shift lever in reverse. You must wait until the beeper unit sound dies out then remove the wire from the most NEGATIVE cable. Place in Neutral before installing new batteries. There is a specific sequence to putting the batteries in an EZ-GO cart. Failure to follow this procedure will kill the controller. The Key switch must be off and the maintenance/tow switch MUST be in the tow position when connecting the batteries. Any of the above will cause the controller to fail, due to improper discharge of the PRE-Charge capacitors.

Were can i find the battery for brigss&stratton an how can i start it its a riding lawnmower

If it is a rear engine rider, look for the battery along the walls surrounding the should be able to see it...if it is a good battery, either charge it, then try to start the mower, or usse jumper cables hooked up to the battery of your car red on positive, black on negative (both the car and the mower battery)

If it is a front engine tractor, the battery should either be behind the dash (under the hood), under the seat, or under the plate where the shifter is.
