    but it doesn't drain

  • gbob59 Mar 29, 2015

See this: http://www.manualslib.com/manual/151263/... This, while not exact model shows how to attach a "hose" or tube, and a "valve" that allows the water from a pump to push the water out the connected tube to some drain (sink). Your manual seemed to be similar. Do you have the tube that should have come with the unit? Can you find the connection point? Do you understand how to connect the tube so it won't leak when the pump is turned on? Do you understand how to turn what is a kind of valve to allow the water to be "pumped" through the tube to a drain? When you push the button twice do you hear a "pump" motor running. Do you have a troubleshooting section in the manual? I hope this helps.

Well Tammy, water MUST flow downhill....so look to ensure that the elevation of the drain connection fitting and corresponding drain line is in fact tilted 'downhill' and away from the coil. If it IS, figure out how to open it and clean it out. It may be plugged up from normal sludge. It may even be plugged up at the end near the floor drain.

Does it have a remote drain system so an internal pump will deliver the water through a small tube to a drain, even an elevated drain? Or do you have the "outside" vent blocked? The "hot air" is normaly supposed to pick up the moisture and push it outside. You probably need to find a way to empty the water in there now because the hot air system will not move any more water than that developed by the condensation from the cold coils.

I thought you said you had instructions to "connect" hose and push button twice" I don't see that comment anymore. Did I miss something? Do you have a place to connect a hose? I supose it could be large like a garden hose? and then what happens if you push the button twice, which I interpert as either a pump to turn on or a valve to feed into the hose. If there is no "pump"

Why cant I get a full cup of coffee

Brewing a Partial Cup
If the brewer is not brewing the full amount selected, it may be caused by the following:
  • The exit needle is clogged by coffee grounds or cocoa mix. Please refer to the K-Cup Holder cleaning instructions.
  • The brewer needs to be descaled. Please refer to the descaling instructions.
  • The removable water reservoir was removed during brewing. Place the water reservoir back onto the brewer and perform a cleansing brew without a K-Cup pack.

Low flow trough the heater

follow this steps and fix it. God bless you
Drain a tank:
  1. Shut off power at the electric panel and post a sign warning others not to turn it on.
  2. Close the cold-water supply valve and open a hot-water faucet somewhere in the house (to speed draining).
  3. Attach a garden hose to the drain valve and run it outside the house.
  4. Open the drain valve and allow all water to drain out.
  5. To refill the tank, close the drain valve tightly and open the cold-water supply valve. Also open a nearby hot-water faucet. When a steady stream of water flows from that faucet, the tank is full and the faucet can be closed.
  6. Once the tank is full, turn the electrical power back on.
Test and replace a relief valve:
  1. Lift the spring lever on the valve to fill a small cup. Check the cup for sediment.
  2. If no water spurts out, or if water continues to drip after the valve is released, replace the valve.
  3. Cut power at the electric panel and post a sign warning others not to turn it on. Close the cold-water supply valve.
  4. Drain a few gallons of water from the tank.
  5. Unscrew and remove the discharge pipe if used.
  6. Loosen the relief valve with a pipe wrench, then remove the valve by hand.
  7. Apply pipe tape to the threads of the replacement valve and screw it into the tank by hand. Tighten it with a pipe wrench. Screw the discharge pipe (if any) into the valve outlet.
  8. Refill the water heater and restore electrical power.

Should the return line come into drain of water heater or cold in.

Your question is not complete.
You have gas water heater in attic?
You are installing recirculation system? Which recirculation do you have? .. so expert can read instruction manual alongside you.
You can connect the recirc return line to the water heater drain valve only IF you have plumbed a separate return line for that installation.
Otherwise, the recirculation return line recirculates into the cold water inlet on water heater.
Copy following link for general illustrations showing both types of installation.

Wont drain with cold water cycle

Need to reset the program and see if there is fault in the water line that does have a low flow and so the program cycle gets a error due to time taken for the rinse cycle.
remove and clean the inlet and the drain pump and hoses.

Have a Intermatic Water heatr timer connected to our water heater (obviously)... yesterday we drained and repostioned the w/h in order to place a drain pan under it. Now...no hot water. Believe we may have...

Timer is not identified.
Open following link to help identify timer and download manual and look at wiring diagrams for each.

By-pass WH40 and T100 series mechanical timer by removing trippers from dial and moving override lever to ON position.
How to troubleshoot mechanical timer:
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-troubleshoot-Intermatic-timer.html

Water heater is electric since Intermatic does not make gas water heater timers.
Electric water heater must be completely full of water before turning on circuit breaker, or elements will instantly burn out.

Water heater heats water, but not long enough or sometimes not hot enough. The hot water runs out too fast, does not provide hot water continually

The first thing I would do is turn up temp control on gas valve.Control is located on front of gas valve at the bottom front of heater. They usually have a indicator dial on front with an arrow pointing direction.Turn dial to higher setting when burner is not on and this should turn burner on and provide hotter water. The control is normally turned clockwise to increase temperature. If control is already turned all the way up then water heater may need to be replaced.Depending on water quality in your area heater may have a large amount of mineral build up and it may not be capable of producing enough or hot enough water. If this the case all I can suggest is to try to drain tank and flush some of the deposits out. If you have installation manual it will give you instructions on how to do this. If not see if you have working shut off valve on cold water line ,if it works shut it off and connect drain hose to drain valve on bottom right side of gas valve. Put hose to floor drain or sump basin if you have one. Turn control knob on top of gas valve from on to pilot, this will leave pilot light on but prevent burner from working while draining. Open drain valve ,flow rate may be slow or not at all. Open hot water side of some faucet to provide air to help draining. You may try opening water supply valve to heater a few times to aid in draining. If you can get it to drain, shut drain valve off when done, turn cold water supply back on and shut off hot water outlet. Then when tank is full open hot water vavle to bleed air out of heater and piping. Turn control knob on top of gas valve back to on position. This should bring burner back on .It will take about 1/2 hour to heat. If you can't get it to drain or this doesn't help you might consider getting a new 40 gallon heater. Hope this helps. Thanks

Cant get my 50 gal rheem electric water heater to drain to change elements

There is 2 ways to do this.
The first way is to turn off the power. Turn off the incoming water (cold) to the heater. Go to a faucet close to the location. Turn off the cold water supply under the sink. Open the hot water side of the faucet. Allow any water to drain from the faucet. Make sure that the water coming out is not under pressure. You should be able to tell by how it come out. Easy, or forceful. Now go to the heater and open the bottom drain valve. The reason it does not drain very easy is because you have a vacuum. Similar to having a soda bottle full of water and turning it upside down. It will drain but it will "Glug" and drain slow. Opening the hot side of the faucet relieves the vacuum and it should drain o.k. When you are done with your repair, leave the hot side of the faucet open and turn on the incoming water to the heater on. Let it fill till you get a steady stream of water from the faucet. This "Burbs" all air out and ensures the tank is full prior to turning on the power. When you get the steady stream, turn off the faucet and restore power. In some cases, the heater may sweat because you are heating very cold water. This is normal and will only happen this one time.
Now if you want to know the second way, let me know. I've done it dozens of times with plenty of success and minimal mess.
Good Luck
