The hard drive is about to die. only thing to do is to try and down to a new drive . Any important data should be backed up to another drive . and you won't have this problem. There are data recovery people that may be able to help, but get a quote as it cost a lot of money.

That's pretty normal with built in connectors. For a workaround grab a cheap USB sound card from eBay or somewhere else. It worked for me.

Toshiiba satellite p205 Internal Harmon Kardon Speakers Do Not Work

Most likely its a nardware problem.
If Device manager shows the audio driver is working and enabled and when you plug an headphone into the headphone/audio out and you only get sound from the right headphone then the audio amp chip is faulty.
If the headphone sounds OK then the easiest solution is to connect a set of powered speakers to your laptop.

Which is better between Acer and Toshiba laptops?

it depends on Size, Gigs, Memory and what you want and wish to do with it........ I had a Toshiba satellite some years back it was 15 inch small amount of gigs and the internal speakers were fabulous...........now I am bouncing City - City with my Royal Blue Mini 9 inch Acer with 160 gigs (I look at my own (15) movies and carry around 25 gigs of music also ............. ) So which is better I'll say more gigs, lighter and faster connect to Wifi ........... ACER

User guide for LWHA301G50 or how to connect in my computer

Switch off your computer and disconnect from the power supply. Remove the base unit to a work area.
Remove the side panels from the computer base unit/tower so you have access to the interior. Make sure that you have no static electricity in you by touching something metal or wearing an anti-static strap. If possible work on a wooden surface as it will not conduct static If there is an existing sound card it is a straight replacement - undo the retaining screw at the back of the machine and carefully withdraw the card from the motherboard. Insert the new card and replace retaining screw.
If there is no card in the machine then you will need to remove one of the metal plates from the rear of the machine. Align the sound card with the new space in the back of the machine and then firmly push the sound card into the corresponding slot on the motherboard.
Replace the side panels, connect the power cord and peripherals and switch on. Depending on your system it may automatically detect the new sound card and ask you for the drivers (insert the driver disk) or sometimes the system may already have a suitable set of drivers installed in which case it should work automatically.
Check by playing some music, if no sound open 'sounds and audio devices' from the control panel and make sure that you have the new soundcard selected under hardware

I have a motherboard that has only has one ide conncetions

what you should do is make the 300 gig as second drive and your primary drive is the 80 gig so that you can view and back-up the contents inside it. If you going to install a new copy of Operating system that would be in the 80 gig so that you don't need to format your 300 gig and make it as second drive. Hope this could help you..Thanks..

The humming sound from the speakers. how do u get rid of it?

i have the same probles woth my atp3 , connected to an airport express , and even to teh laptop itself. seems like it comes from static electricity around or within the speakers. try to change the location but i doubt if it will help alot.
if its the same sound i`m hearing then its really quite hum that is practicly unheardable while you play music , and if it bothers you while the speakers are not in use , just turn them off.
hope this helps

try to restore your system using restore point located in accessories/system tools, if problem still exist no other choice is to reformat your system, maybe your system infected with virus. antivirus cannot protect 100% of the system even it is updated regularly.

Plugged my brand new voyager in and sync'd it to my pc with the v-cast essentials cdrom, started copying my first song on to the phone from the vcast music manager, and all the sudden the computer said...

figured it out. turns out my cheesy 1 gig sndisk memory card in my voyager is a bit too cheesy for the phone. took the disk out, tried to get into my music , worked fine. the guys at the verizon store told me it could also be that the voyager would rather have mp3 files than wma files, and it crashed it with the first wma i tried to sync. who knows. either way, for all you voyager users out there, i would really suggest spending the extra money on a high end 4 gig or more memory card for your phone, because as the verizon people said, these phones are "so sick", that the cheesy stuff messes with the software..

Static on Acer 5315

This is the problem because you don't have good ground line connection. Immediately check your ground line else your laptop may got damaged because of too much static.
