Hi Richard Merrow , I want to help you with your question, but I need more information from you. Can you please add details in the comment box? If you move things around inside the freezer so you can clearly see the rear wall is there frost buildup along that freezer wall. Your freezer does not had a defrost timer the defrost is controlled by a circuit board. There are about four things I want you to check for me so that I may help. I will be looking to hear your response, J.T.

It's possible that the defrost timer motor has stopped. (note your timer might be incorporated in an electronic control module) This will cause the evaporator coils to ice up. Less likely: The timer may be OK, but the defrost heater assembly is open circuit and therefore not heating up. According to RepairClinic.com, 795.7102 model number is incomplete: "795.7102 is a partial model number for a Kenmore Refrigerator. To see specific parts for your Refrigerator, please choose your exact model from the list above or choose the model that's closest." Here a link:

Testimonial: "Thanks, that is helpful. The complete model number is 795.71023.012 I'll check the continuity of the defrost heater."

Wide variation in temperature in refrigerator section (40 degrees in top, 20 degrees in bottom, also, freezer set at WARMEST setting is ten degrees below zero.

Amana refrigerators older than 5 years have both a cold control and freezer control. this may be your problem. But check both the gaskets on the doors and check for heavy dirt on condser coil. Both can cause wild temp problems. Hope this helps

I have a kenmore refrigerator model 5533360 the freezer will not cool below 20 degrees.

check the back wall of the freezer. If there is frost on it then your fridge is not defrosting. Either the defrost timer, heater or thermostat. Is the fan in the back of the freezer running? if not then is obstructed, stuck or burned out.

Freezer won't go below 10 and fridge goes between 40 and 60 degrees

Ensure the condenser is not clogged with dust or other debris.
Ensure the condenser fan (usually found in back) is turning when the fridge is running.

Refrigerator is freezing at the bottom and 60 degrees at the top

probably the fan is not running
take the fan housing off and you may find a buildup of ice preventing the fan from running
