Have a craftsman EZ3 917.272121 mower engine e stalls when blade switch is pulled

If you are sitting on the tractor seat and the engine stalls when engaging the PTO mover blades I would check the switch under the seat.

This seat has a saftey switch to assure that the operator is in a safe location before engaging the the blades. Also if the blades are engaged and the operator leaves the seat the blades will stop. If a young rider with insufficient weight the blades will not engage.

Engine stalls when engaging deck for cutting

Try running it up on some ramps so you can get access to the underside of the deck. With the engine OFF, see if the mower blades will rotate. Use a hose and do a good clean up of the underside. Check to see if there is a blade brake on any of the pulleys and make sure that it is linked properly so that it releases when you try to engage the blades.

Stalls When engaging the blade clutch

Check that the blade brake is disengaging. Slip belt off blade spindles and check that they spin freely. Check underside of deck for clogged grass, ropes, wire, etc.

With the engine ticking over ,then when pull I the switch to run the blades the engine stalls. What is the problem.

Hi. You have to increase the throttle to about half before you engage the blades otherwise the weight of the blade assemblies will stall the engine. I hope this helps. Regards Phil.

Troy Built Ride-on, stalls when blade is engaged.

You may have a short in one of your safety switches. There is usually one on the seat that shuts it off if you try to get up and one on reverse if you try to back it up. I would look there to see if somehow they are grounding out

If you can get it where you can grab the blades, check and see if they float easy. You could have a seized bearing on one of your blades that is stalling out the motor as well.

Hope this helps
