Lid should be slightly loose and you should see a maximum mark on the side of the pan that you must not fill past. It should never leak out.

Should the lid be a tight fit or loose

Most crock pots are made of porous ceramic and is relatively brittle. It is glazed on all sides (except the bottom usually), to make it hold liquids without absorption. The lids, usually glass or thermoplastic, sit of top, but do not usually fit tightly as this could crack the crock. Also, it is not a pressure cooker, so you want excess steam to vent. The lid just keeps the heat inside and allows condensation to drip back into the crock, reducing the speed at which the fluids cook off, thus the term slow cooker.

I was rear ended and though no damage to the side, the outer gas lid was loosened. i understand there is no adjustment that can be made but then is there part that be replaced so the lid is tight and

when body work is completed the lid will again fit properly as the panel that holds the lid has been put out of shape in relation to the hinge position. If it does not fit properly then the repair job was not done prpoperly

Is there such a thing as steamers that go in the microwave?

Yes you can buy steamers that are specifically for microwaves. It's a tight fitting lid over a tray. You add liquid to the tray up to half way, add vegetables and set the microwave to the suggested time.

Our fisher and paykel dishdrawer won't wash. It comes up with F1 and flashing light on control panel.

the dynamo dishwashing stuff has caused foaming which reached the base of the dishdrawer unit causing the flood switch to trip. This gives F1 error.
Not sure how much foaming has occured.

Best to turn off power and take power cable out from socket. then empty the drawer using towels. pull out the bottom drawer and wait a day or so to let the foam disappear from the bottom of dishwasher (under the bottom drawer). Connect the power and see if F1 had gone. If not, you need more work. Post a comment based on the above suggestion and I will guide you further if required. Always use Finish dishwasher power only (recommended quantity) as the drawers are small and don't need much detergent.

Kitchenaid mixer leaking oil

Get a copy of the Repair Part List for your model at Kitchenaid.com
Grease inside the Planetary Assembly (the shaft is tight fit to the Planetary
plate at the factory and is not designed to be taken apart, so do not use
any hard object such as a screwdriver to separate them) over times can
turn to liquid and leak down the bowl. Removing the Planetary assembly
and adding Kitchenaid Food Grade Grease is not a task for a novice.
To properly remove the Planetary Assembly, you must work from inside
the Transmission Housing: Remove in this order: Retaining Clip(25), Bevel Gear(21),
Retaining Pin(18), Worm Follower Gear(19). Use a soft mallet to tap out the Shaft
of the Planetary Assembly(15). Re-assemble it in the reverse order.
Note: The Bevel Gear is extremely tightly fit on the shaft, and a pin punch
must be used to remove from the shaft.

The lables will not advance unless you hold down the lid tight, also we didn't use it for a while because of this problem and not when you hold the lid down no printing is on the lable.

there's a small optic sensor on the right edge that detects if the printhead mechanism (lid) is locked down. If the lid doesn't fit tight, then the printer thinks the lid is still open. By pushing on the lid, you block the sensor and labels print.

I have blocked that sensor by putting a small piece of label or masking tape over the sensor to block it. Now the printer will print even if the lid is not down tight.

More of a band-aid than a permanent solution to finding out why the lid won't lock down properly but it may help.

How can I minimise the smell of my macerator

Possible causes and solutions:
  1. Poor Ventilation, make sure macerator is properly vent. From top of lid there is a separate 1 1/2" ventilation pipe make sure it's installed and pipe/fittings are undamaged, fittings are all tight and secure. Vent is free of debris.
  2. Leaking Seals. Inspect lid Gasket for damage and deterioration, Replace with new gasket if damaged or deteriorated.
  3. Check all connection to ensure tightness, Lid tightly, Pan Gasket, hose/pipe fittings tight and secure.
I hope this helps in solving your problem, please rate the helpfulness of the answer. Good Luck and have a great week. Jeff

Lg washer wm2455h leaking from bottom filter housing; there's nothing in the filter itself. Filter has proper gasket.

Make sure the drain hose is not plugged by lowering the end below any water in the machine--it should flow out freely. If ok, look carefully at the filter housing for any warping or cracking of the plastic lid or case. Make sure the clamp fits tightly. If water does not flow from the drain hose properly, try 'back-washing' the filter element--you may have to replace it if you have difficulty.
