Gibson serial #122506 what year was it made?

This is tricky because Gibson duplicated serial numbers in different years on different models, and the serial number by itself does not give the model.

If the serial number is on the headstock, but not the place of manufacture, your guitar was made at the Kalamazoo Plant, MI, USA in 1963.

If definitely a Les Paul Classic the guitar was made at the
Nashville Plant, TN, USA in 1991 or in 2001 (see what I mean?)

If the serial number is on the headstock, along with "Made in USA", the guitar was made at the Kalamazoo Or Nashville Plant, USA in 1970, 1971 Or 1972.

Frustrating eh?

If you need to get closer than this with a professional appraisal you could try sending photos and details (plus a fee) to

What does the serial number 171756 on a Martin D28 Guitar mean?

That serial number would correspond to a guitar built in 1959. The model will be either be stamped on the neck block seen from inside the guitar or on the label visible through the sound hole. Martin's phone number is 610-759-2837 and they may be able to provide more specific info.

Aria guitar serial number 65107005

I can't say about the age, but they seem to be in production still. CGp indicates a classical guitar, rather than an 'acoustic' guitar. the difference is in the strings. Classical guitar strings do not have the tension od regular steel acoustic strings. The fingerboard is usually flat and wider. I don't think they made these back in 1965. The serial number is different for each manufacturer and you would have to ask the manufacturer.

I have a Yamaha Clarinet serial number 004828 what does that mean?

Serial numbers used to be used to tell the age of instruments. It seems now with Yamaha they are used as a tracking number for accounts purposes.

Hello I bought an Epiphone DOT but it does not contain a serial number...What does this mean or how can I find one

The serial number SHOULD be stamped on the back of the head above the farthest tuner. It is like an eleven digit number.

It is POSSIBLE if your unit does NOT have this that it is counterfeit... it is happening all the time now.

I hv purchased fender made in mexico with serial no. MZ7267448. is it original. please advise

Serial number starting with M indicates a Mexi Fender, if thats what you mean. It is a real Fender, it is just made in a plant in Mexico for much cheaper, and sold for much cheaper. I've played some Mexican Fenders that played better than American, and generally they are all decent, but most of the time people would rather have the American versions.
