I have very gently taken a pair of needle nose pliers and grasping the edge of the cartridge that holds the disk carefully work it back into the magazine.

Hi , seen lots of these.
whats happend is the Tray that the disc sits in has jammed halfway in.
in most cases giving the mag a swift tap (hard tap) with the haddle of a screw driver , while pushing the eject button normally is just enough to dislodge the mag.
otherwise its a repair job.
were do you live Alison?

good day, you may want to do it manually if its jammed, you may find a pinhole on it and u can use a paperclip, insert it in the hole and it will open. hopefully it wont jam again. hope this helps, have a nice day
