Question about HP Deskjet F340 All-In-One Printer
I go to control panel and look at printers. It shows ready. Power on this piece of junk, press scan nothing happens. quantity shows 1, press start copy, nothing happens. Unless I can get positive results, I am thinking of throwing this junk into the trash and never buy HP again!!!!!!!!!!!
I believe that you have operator malfunction.

HP gear is troublesome all right. Sounds like the drivers and software necessary to catch the button push on the scanner is not installed or working correctly (this is separate usually from the other drivers and so forth). Try reinstalling all of the HP drivers and utilities from the latest versions on their web site.

go to Start, Settings, Control panel, printers and faxes is your printer there? is there a checkmark? no, then right click and set as default, put your mouse over it does it say Ready? no, then change cable.
send test page, it should print, if not the USB or Parrallel input of your printer has a problem.
