I'm the proud owner of the Logitech Z 5500 speaker. I noticed that I wasn't getting any lows from the sub so I ran the 'TEST' button on the remote only to realize their was no output from the sub - all other speakers working! Any help? Much Thanks, Joel

Logitech Z5500 5.1 speaker system Hi, Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this problem? there is no sound coming from the subwoofer or the speakers, but when I connect my mp3 player to the pod...

Try pulling the power from the unit for a few minutes, the reconnect. Make sure you've got the surround settings correct. If that doesn't do it, you've likely popped the amp or the amp's power supply in the sub box.

Popping Audio

You may have blown the speaker and need to replace it. Try at a low volume and then at high to notice any difference, if the popping occurs only at higher volume then it needs replacing. I hope this helps

Z 5500

There are four screws visible that have to be taken out of the plastic. There are also six or eight screws under the screen cover. You have to drill holes in the screen and unscrew the sub. The plastic holding the screen is screwed down underneath the sub.

Recommendations for computer audio switching

I use the HT-391 in my home office video studio not sold anymore but it handles 3 PCs giving them 140w of power, plus 6" active power sub has excellent bass. The wireless remote can be programmed with Radio Shack 8-in-one LCD Universal Remote.
the HT-3917 is small but don't let the size fool you. It has 100w of power still not bad for small places.

For what you need to control you're better off getting the Z-5500.

Z-5500 Digital made by Logitech has 5.1 Dolby Digital 505w
Supports up to 6 audio inputs devices at the same time. Remote controls everything you want. 5 mini speakers 10" power sub woofer. with wireless remote control. $399

HT-3917 - handles 3 audio input devices it has 5.1 Surround Sound 5 mini speakers with wall mount 6" power sub vented port for bass and everything you need to two sources though. Wireless remote control. This can be found at Wal-Mart for $39.99

Logitech z-5500

Try to click the EFFECT BUTTON a few times to change the effect settings (see also in display) from e.g. Stereo (which uses only two front speakers) to other settings (for which some will use the other (rear/center/sub)speakers as well). Success,

Logitech z-5500 surround.

Hello Thimo
First things First:
1) The only thing sincerely you have to do in this cases, if you yet have warranty, is RMS the speakers, for a new one, or repair.
other than this, is a internal board power for your speakers.
good luck
