My memory says card error when I incert into camera

Try another card to rule out a defective card. If it persists with a new card, odds are a pin is bent or broke inside the socket and the camera will need to go in for repair.

I get an error message on my display showing "cha". When I looked it up in the manual, it says that the card isn't formatted correctly. I bought a brand new card for it, but the same message...

Hi there please follow the steps and let me know the result.
1. Ensure batteries are fully charged & clean the battery connector point in side the battery compartment.
2. Look carefully between the lens and the camera body for any sand, dirt or any damaged etc.
3. Try turning the camera with the lens facing down and shake to dislodge anything stuck
4. Try removing batteries and memory card, wait 5 minutes and refit the battery only.
5. Now turn on camera( with out card ) and see ,if working then fix the memory card & again turn on the camera. If working then fine . Otherwise format the memory card and fix back in camera again & try. Make sure before format the memory card take a back up all photos in your computer then format. If no luck then reset or restore the camera setting by pressing Menu key for 2 sec .. in not done the press both Menu & self time key for 2 - 4 sec.
i hope it will gives you success.

Will not take picture

1) Take the card out of the camera, check about half way up on the left hand side there may be a small sliding notch, slide it to wrtie enable and re-incert it in your camera.

2) If 1 didn't work, there's also a photo protect option in you camer menu, ensure that is also off.

Kodak easyshare m360 says memory full after 3 photos i just bought the camara and put in a klic-7001 rechargable battery.

Your camera is set on internal memory.
You must incert a memorycard and go into menu, Cam. Settings and find AUTO or SD card option and change to AUTO. If the cam cannot read the memorycard it will wutomaticly go back to internal memory.

I have just bought a Samsung S1070 Digital Camera an placed a 1gb memory card in it. I have now placed a brand new 2gb memory card in it and it instantly it tells me that the memory is full. Thanks Ama

In this case try formating the memory card. first put in the memory card to camera, turn on the camera and connect it ur computer. it will show up as removable disc under my computer. Right click on the removable disc and click on format. hopefully it should work.

Help with kodak M753 camera and memory card!

If you format the card, the pictures are gone leaving you with a blank memory card.

Format the card in your camera, then load it up in your computer and see if the cycle goes away.

Once you get a picture on the memory card and in your computer, keep an eye on the memory specs reporting on the computer and see if there is anything unusual. I've heard of a few defective cards but its rare.

I dont!

As mentioned by t00nz, fake memory cards are flooding in. It is big business (especially on Ebay) and lots of people are buying fake or refurbished memory without even knowing it. If you bought from Ebay, make sure you buy from someone who has great feedback and it comes in the sealed retail package. This won't guarantee it will be legit, but it sure helps.

You also want to test your memory are soon as you get it with a memory card reader and software on your PC (such as SiSoft Sandra). You should also see if you can read/write to the entire memory card by moving large amounts of data to it. It sounds like you bought a 512MB memory instead of a 2GB one.

Here is a great link to see which memories look bad before your purchase.

Good luck.

Did the 1st card ever work? (i.e. is the camera new to you). After many uses, the memory cards need to be reformatted (thru your Setup menu). Post the make and model of the cards and we can check to see if they're compatible w/ your camera.
