Make sure your power supply is doing its job. check output reading w/ a ohm meter and compare it to the info on the back of the supply. i am assuming your using tje recommended power supply. if this does not prove to be the cause. you may have send it out for diagnostics and most times it's just cheaper to buy new. good luck
Put you hand into the speaker and try to wiggle it and see if it makes sound in a certain position and not in others. This will prove whether or not the speaker has a broken winding on the voice coil. I would definitely verify the speaker condition before thinking the amp is the problem.
Well first start by verifying USB port works by plugging in a hard drive or something thus proving you have a good port and USB Cable. At which point hook the keyboard up ( and make sure to properly install drivers provided on cd with purchase) being a pc this may take several attempts to install. What software are you trying to control? Reason? Logic? Fruityloops?
The metronome is built in software, but it proves that your output is working fine. That's good.
Try changing your patch cable from guitar>pedal. if that doesn't fix it, grab a screwdriver.
Open the pedal and check the input port - is there any bent pieces or blockages preventing the cable from contacting what it needs to? Is the solder broken, cracked, or missing? Are both contact points firm and in place?
Replace diodes CR6 through CR9 and test C31 and C33 for short. If all OK and fuse still blows, remove the power tubes and test. Hopefully you do not have a transformer short.
To save fuses, put a 150 watt light bulb in series to act as a reseting fuse while testing.
colearthur16, Only a slight chance of problem with your speaker. You will need to prove that all stages of amplification of the audio signal from input to output are not being driven into distortion (clipping) because of a bad DC power supply rail to the low level amplifiers or the high power "final" output amp! To prove this, you will need the help of an electronics technician who has access to a variable audio signal generator (amplitude and frequency) and a cheap 5 to 20 megahertz oscilloscope to view the amplified waveforms of the amplifier stages in the Fender Amp. Remember the following statement for the rest of your life!!! "All musicians who use electronic amplification to play musicial notes through speakers should have between 4 and 8 hours of classroom instruction on how typical amplifiers (tube and solid state) operate and how to troubleshoot them when they fail to perform to rated specifications!!!"
Cole, have the Fender amplifier (not the speaker) tested by a qualified technician to prove amp is not at fault!!! 12fixlouie
