MY GARMIN STREETPILOT C310 WORKED THIS MORNING, BUT NOW WILL NOT SWITCH ON?

C310 is slow in finding maps. If the battery is not charging it may be time to change it. However this is not an easy job.

the battery is failing, the life span of the garmin battery is around 2 years, contact garmin for a replacement battery.

The lighter coloured facia part pops off if you gentley prize it off with a knife or small screwdriver. You can then see the screws that how the outer housing together. unscrew them to get to the battery. The battery has a aluminium cover over it with the batttery stuck to it with tape. Unscrew the top fixings of the cover and prize off the battery. I then cut the wires near the battery (one at a time) so i could solder the new battery in the circuit.

Garmin do send out update DVD maps for certain products. If it was an older unit, you maybe entitled to a free update. Simply get the Mapsource DVD. upload the maps to your PC and then transfer onto your Garmin unit.

Alternatively is to buy the DVD, which would be an advantage as it may offer additional maps to what you already had...ball park €60-70 Euro I think...Check the Garmin site...

My husband had the same problem with his i2 Street Pilot.
He went to the Garmin web site and downloaded the latest
updated software version. You can then chose the language options, too.

If you pull off the front outer surround trim panel (prize off just underneath the garmin logo) you'll find a reset button. That should fix it for you.

the update will not load... i had this problem.. i just took the memory card out and re-started the unit... works fine again... Dave

You can lift of the grey trim on the front and then hold down the reset button might not work though but its worth a try.
