SOURCE: Freezer not freezing

Check the back wall of the freezer section for signs of frost build-up. If the freezer coil is frozen from a fault in the defrost system your refrigerator will be the first to show signs of not cooling.

SOURCE: fridge freezing everything

If your fridge is freezing to much put the thermistor closer to the fins (it will make it colder so it shuts off sooner)

SOURCE: my daughter's mini fridge has a freezer

This is a drawback of most mini-fridges. Start by defrosting everything. Then fill ice cube trays with water and keep lowering the setting until the water freezes. Just go a little lower, no more. Fridge should not freeze food. If the fridge stays closed all the time food will freeze. Also if the freezer element gets ice buildup it must be defrosted. Not automatic like home fridge. Most kids today weren't born when the last fridges that had to be defrosted were in service.

SOURCE: Miela fridge freezer freezes food in the fridge

Most likely reason is fridge evaporator sensor faulty. The sensor is screwed to the back wall of the fridge behind bracket next to light and has a green band near the end . The sensor come as a repair kit (part no. 7323301). Just follow instructions in the packet. It is quite straight forward

What is the part# for a bypass filter on mod# mf12569yem0

The model # is actually MFI and not MF1. The part for the bypass plug will be 12664501SP. Most people do not know what it is when they get their new fridge and throw it in a junk drawer! Look around as you probably have it somewhere.

My maytag mf12569yem0 has been icing up in the freezer section and leaking since I bought it new. Now the unit FREEZES everything in the fridge. Any suggestions?

Yes more than likely u have a bad defrost terminator in the freezer , its connected to the evaporator coils its a small round like object with 2 wires going into it. the other source may be the defrost timer itself. U can check it by locating it in ur fridge usually top middle area. under it u will see a tiny hole or slot, if u stick a small screwdriver into the slot and turn clockwise slowly till u hear a click 1 click not 2 if its stuck out of defrost, it will not go into defrost? the second click should take it out of defrost cycle. Another thing which may be wrong is ur heating element itself has gone bad u can also check it with a multi meter for continuity.

Everything on top shelf of fridge freezes even on lowest temperature

you should send model number,if you have a damper control in your model most likely this is the problem, all that happens is cold air blows over from the freezer from the evaporator fan and blows through the top section of the fridge side,if the damper door isn't closing all the way it will cause freezing in the fridge section.

Can you feel air moving or hear the fan running in the freezer section? You said the freezer section is freezing well, but is it freezing really hard?

The fridge area or of my Maytag fridge is freezing everything in it. Just started to happen yesterday.

At the back of the refrigerator section, near the bottom behind the crispers, is a small opening that is an air return. There is a little plastic flapper that is supposed to close the hole off when the unit is not running. Check to be sure the little plastic flapper is not hung up or twisted and remaining open allowing cold air to flood the fresh food section.

Fridge is not holding proper temp but freezer is still working

Hi,
Usually when this happens it is because of a problem with the fan that moves cold air from the freezer section of your unit to the refrigerator section. Either the fan has gone bad or the unit has frosted up to the point of stopping the fan. Try defrosting (unplugging) the unit over night and then check it to see if the fan runs. If not then replace the fan. If it runs and then stops after awhile like days or even a few weeks, then you may need a defrost timer.
The timer can also be called an advance defrost control.

Also make sure to check the heater coil for resistance. If that is open then it is the problem.
By doing a search for "appliance parts" you can find the part you eed easily.
Enter the model number of your unit and then select the part you need from the parts menu.
You will have it in a few days.
It is best to check a couple of sites to be sure you get the best price.

I hope that this will help you to solve your problem!

Refrigerator is on lowest setting, but everything is still freezi

you need either a temperature control #66005516 or more probably a new auto damper # 61005989 they ar both in the back at the top of the fresh food section under the plastic slide control housing they are easy to replace be care ful and take your time disassembling and reassmbly will be much smoother.
go to apdepot.com and enter in the model number etc and you will se a blow up of the unit itself under controls.
