I am having the same problem with this model and stumbled upon this page while trying to find out how to remove the back cover.  Does anyone know how to remove the cover?

I have a similar problem but the solution does not work for me. I took off the back cover off and then removed the metal plate that covers the power supply area..but nothing. My unit remains in a dormant state, green light comes on but there's no juice going to the screen. There seems to be a power lock-out. I can't even power the unit on or off other than unplugging it.
    Any ideas????

My problem is somewhat the same and I know what is causing it. It is a Heat problem or in my case a lack there of. I really need a schematic to figure out what part but here is what i have figured out so far. Looks like there is a temperture sensor in the system. If the temp is not of a certain level the system shuts down. If I blow a hair drier down the midle of the set it will come on but sometimes you do need to unplug it to reset everything. I could tell you the area fo within 4 square inches as to where the problem is but without schematics I can not tell you what part is bad. If someone has a schematic to email me send it to and i will let you know what the problem is after I fix mine.

I have the same model - Removing the cover so far fixed it for me but I'm not sure why. It was powering on and off every 15-30 seconds so not a heat issue but with cover off it seems to be fine. Caps all looks fine. Grounding issue maybe??

All you need to do is remove the back cover, then remove the metal cover that covered the power supply. Watch tv w/o cover, it won't shut down again. Try it and post here if it works.

Hi all i found the problem i have the same lcd model #26mf231/37 Mainboard #313815866861 6182.2 , 6281.3 ,6285.4 All apllies
Im a technician since 1990 and here is what i discovered.
I opened the back cover and removed the metal casing i cutoff a rectangular box from the metal casing to expose most of the power supply and i also cut the same square box from the cover backside. bought a metal mesh so that the power supply can breath.
Next i wanted to make sure my main board was good so here is what i did.
I pluged in my soldering iron 30 watts then located a crystal board location H100 and i applied heat to it while the tv was on and sure enought it turned off that's where the problem is.
Remove the main board and add alittle bit of new solder and walla.
    Let me explain the problem:
The H100 is a crystal safety feature when it gets hot the solder around it contract therefore it looses connection is common is lcd/plasma T.V's heat is Evil in any component.
Anyway once you have acomplish all of the above you should be good to go.
Please email me and let me know how you made out with the T.V. Will be appreciated

Installed new lamp but her static sounds wd-73733 and still no picture

I would venture to guess the bulb figment is your issue and the electrical sound is most likely arching (very bad). The cheap replacements won't last. I bought a sylvania build and matched the model number with the one from inside the old bulb housing. Changing out the bulb from the casing is really easy so just return the one you bought and buy the corresponding bul without the case.

When my Syncmaster 204B (used as Monitor #2-1600x1200 60 hz) goes to sleep I can't get it back on. Power off/on, replug etc. every now and then it comes back. What's up?

Sounds like the powersupply is faulty. If it used to work for a moment then the picture dissapeared, and then if you turned it off and back on, the picture returned for a moment.

That would indicate a power supply issue, in that case it would definitely be a bad electrolyte capacitor or two. In your case I'm not sure but its either the power board or then there is something more complex wrong on the smaller mainboard inside the lcd back cover.

Tv turns on w/pic then pic dissapears light blinks 4 times

I have the same issue, we've had to change our bulb three times in less than two years. now we have 61" expensive paper weight. Our current bulb is less than 6 months old. The TV is only 2 years old and like i said this is our third bulb.

the blue light blinks 4 times. you get sound. then a few minutes the the picture returns... then it goes out, and the cycle goes on.

A solution to this would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, You have a high voltage section problem I would not suggest fixing this set on your own. You will need to take this set to the shop. Because there are no user repairable parts inside of the set.
