The iron is plugged in correctly. The light come on, however the stainless steel bottom remains cold no matter how long the iron plugged in to the power outlet. The power outlet is working ok, as I am using it to charge my phone, vac, etc. Please advise what can be done to correct the problem. I have a rowenta iron that when plugged in will light up for 2 seconds then the light goes out....no heat felt on soleplate. I purchased this iron 4 years ago and the warranty was for the first year. The iron is a DE8000 and I want to disassemble it but am stuck. I am using a torx screw driver and I have the bottom plate off but the top of the plate is still attached and it is a mystery as to how to get to the other torx screws, any one out there with disassembly help please reply THANK YOURalph
Like what was posted before, the cause of the iron lights is on but the heaters are not hot is because either your heater connection is melted or rusted due to water seepage(steam irons). The lights power supply are tapped parallel to the heater supply thus lights is on. Solution is to dismantle the iron to replace the connectors or cables. Though not all iron is easy to dismantle

I have a Rowenta "Focus" DZ5080 with the same problem. While ironing last night, I noticed the smell of burning plastic. I turned the iron off and unplugged it. After it cooled down, I plugged it back in, but it remained cold. I removed the bottom sole plate and noticed a black control wire had some of its insulation partially melted. It had gotten so hot that it melted a small section of insulation on an adjacent red wire. These wires go into what looks like a solid-state module. It's too complex for me to fix, so I'm mailing my iron to the Rowenta repair depot in Illinois.

I plug in the iron. On light comes on. Soleplate does not heat--stays cold.
Same problem. The light goes on on the left side to indicate the heat level, but on the right side the temp light stays green and the iron doesn't heat.
Iron light comes on, heats momentarily then goes off. Have used torx head to remove 2 bottom screws but can't remove plate. Don't know what I'd do if I got it off. Any suggestions?
shark g1490 iron leaked after I filled it then it wouldnot heat up the light on nylon blinks but iron does not heat
i have a brand new rowenta DZ5080 iron I plugged it in today after using it only for a month and it wouldn't heat. The green light immediatly comes on...but the soleplate doesn't heat.
