Printing jerky, screen goes blank

When I run a credit card through my Nurit 2085, it goes to a blank screen, then displays NOS V07.30 and other numbers and the word FLASH. Then it reads "detecting hardware", then it starts running a self test, then it starts printing a receipt in a very halting manner, and then stops. Any ideas what is wrong?

    Thanks for attempting to help. I followed your instructions, but it said "no RAM errors." Now the screen reads "Prm Err: OFFLN From: OFLN" Any other ideas?

BATCH or SETTLE before doing this for all data stored will be WIPED clean.

The flash memory needs to be reset there are RAM errors that need to be cleared out.

Unplug power Hold 1,5,9, and review down while holding it down someone can plug in the power cord it will take you to NOS Loader menu.
Choose option 6 or 8 Back to NOS Password 1947. Then choose option 6 service menu, then 1 hardware test, then 13 or 15 RAM TEST make sure it says RAM TEST. Then it will say this is self destructive it is fine hit enter when test is done it will take you back to the date and time mae sure you input it correctly then enter and it should then be fine.

Nurit 8000 error message tampered device how to fix

Your Nurit 8000 internal battery is already bad that needs to be replaced or your plastic case is broken your internal sensors were disturbed. After replacing the internal battery, then reload the NOS (Nurit Operating System)from Nurit OSP Loader to remove and clear the tamper. A little bit of work but it can be fixed. Nurit 8020 - Change NOS - Remove SECURE

If you are just reloading a NOS in your Nurit 8020 machine, even if your machine is secured you should be able to load it, make sure your com1 baud rate setting is the same, your 8020 is set to 115200 baud rate, and should set up your com1 at the same speed...hope this will help and if you still need more help you can call us at (775)358-2922 ask for Randy. Dropped my nurit 8020 on the ground. Now when I turn it on, the first screen says self test please wait followed by the machine info and secured. Then it goes to a screen that reads tampered device/alarm...

To make it useable we need to remove the tamper first. Nurit OSP Loader is the the program we use to remove the TAMPER error. Replacing the internal battery and reloading a fresh NOS (nurit operating system) will remove the error. Check our website at freshpoint.org or cal us if you can at (775)358-2922 . It can be fixed, you don't need to replace it. thank you.

I have a verifone Nurit 8020 which displays "Tampered Device". The company says I need a replacement. Is there any way to fix this?

Anyone have any info on how i can update my Nurit 2085 from NOS 6 to NOS 7 I have heard that Verifone no longer supports the update.

VeriFone NOS 6 Operating System
VeriFone has assigned “end of life” status to the NURIT NOS 6 operating system. The terminal manufacturer previously announced that it would discontinue support for NOS 6 applications and stop offering NOS 6-to-NOS 7 upgrades on October 31, 2009.
On July 1, 2010, VeriFone will permanently shut down the loader required to convert from NOS 6 to NOS 7, making the upgrade unavailable to all models of NURIT terminals.
Merchants who wish to continue receiving support for impacted NURIT terminals are strongly encouraged to update their operating systems (if possible) prior to the July 1 deadline. Currently, there are three devices in the marketplace that may be eligible for the NOS 6-to-NOS 7 operating system upgrade:
  • NURIT 2085 03
  • NURIT 2085 04
  • NURIT 2085 21
To notify eligible First Data Independent Sales customers, they will include a message in the May 2010 month-end merchant statement (scheduled for release in early June) advising NURIT 2085 users to contact the Omaha POS Help Desk to update their terminals.

Can anyone tell me why my nurit 2085 doesnt display the "credit......sale, account?" It just displays "prepaid enter/swipe" is it because I dont have a merchant account yet??

"That could be it.
You have to have an account active with a Bank and confirmed to get proper access via the POS terminal.

Nurit 2085 says it can't run appl

Have the processor rebuild the file for your machine. If there is some corrupt data in the file build it can cause issues. Before redownloading the new file be sure the processor wipes memory fully on the terminal so none of the old data remains. After the redownload, you will know if it was a problem with the original file, or a hardware issue. If you want to use another cc service, contact us at premieramericard (dot) com.

NURIT 2085 (i cant figure out the passcode)

At the password prompt, if you press the alpha key you can get the date the terminal thinks it is. use that. Sometimes some terminals are wrongly programmed therefore the internal clock may be off, setting the password off.
