hp pavilion dv6000. The notebook will not turn on. I have tried to turn it on with the battery installed and with it removed. When pressing the ''power'' button all the blue lights come on for less than a second and then nothing. Trying to determine if the motherboard is bad and needs replacement.

- no it has not. when you say a short do you mean, that because it might have been dropped actual metal parts a touching hence shorting the system. or because of the drop the mother board is shorting out. thanks

sounds like theres a short in the motherboard . Has it been dropped recently??
