Re: picture is blocked by menu box

Try leaving the telly unplugged for 24 hours if you cant exit the menu using the controll is their a back button or exit button on controll you could even try selecting the av channels using av button on controll if the controll is at fault it might be that the pads behind the buttons have become greasy or damp and not allowing you to press it can you change the channels using controll if it is controll prob take apart remove buttons and clean with a dust free cloth if the controll still works and you can change the channels but still have square on screen then it is fault with telly if you unplug it for 24 hours then ry again if you still have problem post back the make n model n age of the set and i will try again sorry couldnt be anymore help ill have another look when no make let me know....................................................................

Zenith pvr6069 rk is out of focus for letters and picture not very bright

First this set should have a production date on the rear of around 1995--fairly old.

If letters outlined in red etc--a convergence problem--either adjustment with remote (in menu) or a circuit problem in same area.

If picture dull and darker--locate the 3 large lens inside from the rear and wipe them clean--they are the light source for the sets picture and if dirty will cause a dark dull picture.

Let me know if questions.

Black Box in the lower portion of the screen will not disappear

Check your Closed Captioning settings in the menu. I would bet money you have the "Text" feature enabled. Change it to OFF and you should be all set. I hope this was of some assistance.

It sounds like the closed captioning background.

Press Menu on the remote
Press Up or Down, Ch + or C- to get to Closed Caption
Press right side button or Vol+ and Mode will be highlighted
Press right button or Vol+ until it says Off on the right hand side of the Menu
Press exit and that should do it.

Hope this helps.

Big black box in the middle of the screen

The black box is there because your closed captioning is on and set to text mode. Some channels send the signal even when there is no actual text to display. You can get rid of it by either turning off closed captioning or changing it to CC1 or CC2 mode instead of text. If you can't find those settings, then restore factory settings as directed in your user manual.

Need help with PIP

When you go into the menu to choose the PIP source the PIP comes on to confirm that a valid source has been selected. It is normal for the PIP to close when the menu is exited. To display the PIP normally you will need a remote with a PIP button. Most universal remotes today have PIP functions but if you get a Zenith original replacement then you are guaranteed to enjoy the other PIP features such as size, position, freeze and swap.

Black square in the middle of the picture

You have the set configured to display "text 1 or Text 2" in the closed captioning menu. You will need to turn closed captioning off to get rid of this box.
