Brother DCP165c Driver installation Problem

Hello,

Try installing it in safe mode.

To go to safe mode, do the following:

Restart and tap F8. Use the arrow keys to highlight safe mode with networking and hit enter. Install the driver from there and follow the on-screen instructions.

If no go, check the device manager of any question mark. There might be some outdated drivers that cause this problem. You can use RadarSync (free version) to scan your computer for outdated drivers.

After fixing all driver related issues, try installing the printer again.

Follow the on-screen instructions, do not use usb-extension cables. Try a new thick and short (well shielded) usb cable, connected it directly to the rear usb ports of your PC.

ok to start over....

unplug the usb cable... have the printer disconnected from the computer...open the printers and faxes under control panel in ur computer.... delete all the icons related to ur printer... once that is done, insert the installation cd which u got while u purchased the printer.... go on with the on screen instructions and keep clicking on next.... and while u install the software, the installation screen itself will ask u to connect the printer... at that time plug in the usb cable and make sure that the printer is turned on... and again go on with the on screen instructions until u hit finish... thats it!!!

1. first install the driver of the Brother printer from the CDROM
2. connect your printer with the USB cable, and plug it to the power source
3. power on the printer
4. the system will detect '' a new hardware detected''
5. click on the message to add your printer
6. the sytem will ask you <print a test page ?> choose YES

Dear ,First you have to remove all old installed driver of this p'rin'ter along with Paper Port also, Do not connect the printer to PC before it is asked to do So, Now installed the New Driver again , When PC shows PLUG IN THE USB CABLE than connect the machine with PC, It shows NEW HARDWARE FOUND , and then it will complate the installation,

It sounds like you may have plugged it in too early in the installation. Try uninstalling it and completely re-install, but don't connect the usb cable until the installation software tells you.

u have chak ur usb cable has been damged or not working take new usb cable & connect it reinstall driver

Hello;

Please disconnect the printer from the PC and then install the software(driver) of the printer. While installing the driver, during installation the PC will tell you to connect the printer. (that's the proper time to connect the printer to the pc) . then the pc will automatically detect the printer and it will continue the installation process. (please follow the on-screen instruction)

Try plugging into a different USB port on your computer.

I guess you have connected the usb cable to a hub.

You have to connect the cable directly to a pc usb port.

In some cases you may need a new driver wich can be download from www.brother.com
