Hello Karolina

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service appliance technician.

Please do not change the breaker. If your fan is running then you have power to your unit.

I wish some of the sites advisers would not give advice in areas where they are not knowledgeable just to built up points!

You have to be careful. This un-experienced adviser could have cost you several hundred dollars for a new breaker and he would not be liable.

Now, lets address your problem.

You need to provide me with your oven model number, which is located on a metal plate on the top face of your oven when you open the door.

You could just have a bad sensor or component.

Send me your model number and I will help you.

I assume this is electric full-size oven, not Microwave? Check
the Oven circuit breaker which should be a large 220vac breaker.
Turn off and back on. If the problem reoccurs. The Breaker is "tired" and needs to be replaced by an Electrician.

Is corcuit breaker the same as selector switch ? Sorry to bother you but I'm a woman and trying to sort this out as much as possible before I'll pay fortune to some specialist electrician :)

  • gbob59 Mar 17, 2015

No, The circuit breaker is one of the big ones in your main circuit breaker box. The main box is usually inside near the electric meter outside. If an older house it may be a "fuse" box with two large fuses. Hopefully that is not your arrangement. It is deadly scary to change those fuses.

Why does my Oven not heat up ?

Did you check to see if the element is receiving power? Is element open?

Double fan assisted oven, the fan is not working and no heat at all. Im assuming you dont get any heat at all if the fan is faulty? Can any one suggest any ideas?

Typically, the coils heat and the fan moves air/heat throughout the oven like Emergency Heat in a home furnace: 1st. check thermometer connections, 2. Look for reset button and reset...also, your electrical outlet, 3. make sure your coils are heating and if so look for faulty relays on your fan connections.

My de dietrich oven is not heating. the light and fan are ok

If the fan is working o/k, then the oven element is most likely faulty.

AEG Competence Oven not working

If you are certain that the element is o/k, and it is not heating, then thwere are 2 possibilitues.

1- the oven thermostat could be faulty, whereby it is giving a feed to the element.
2-some ovens have a fan only setting, as well as heat and fan, make sure that it is not on a fan only setting.
Hope this helps.

Fan oven wont work convection works

Assuming the fan is working o/k, but there is no heat, then it is most likely that the oven element has failed.
This is to be found at the rear of the oven compartment behind a removeable cover.
