I tried playing NHL 09 with a friend online but I

I tried playing NHL 09 with a friend online but I can't hear him he can't hear me but everybody else hears us and we can hear them. We tried other games and both our headsets works except for NHL 09. What could be the problem? Any suggestion/s?

Make sure your headset is paired and connected to the PS3. If you are using a router to connect to the internet, enable UPNP to allow any necessary ports to open up.
