1 light went out, replaced bulb, went out again and now months later, the other... help!

If the vehicle is equipped with HID lighting, you could have a ballast problem to the light. If they are regular type headlights the connector to the bulb could be causing a problem with a ground or power supply

I would check the socket that the bulb goes in,also,if there is moister getting in the tail light this will also cause the problem.

open the bulb assembly and check if the bulb has fused / broken into pieces.if not then the ballast unit that powers the bulb is at fault and needs replacement
if the bulb has fused/broken , then probably the bulb that u had replaced 3 months back wasnt genuine!

U might just have a bad ballast. It generates the high voltage to fire up your bulb.

First replace bulb to make sure it's not the bulb. If it's not the bulb it is most likely the light engine. My suggestion would be don't invest in the light engine. Goes for about $500 plus for a re-built one and warranty is only 3-6 months on it. I purchased one and it went again in 4 months.

Please don't invest in any more dlp tv's. I learned the hard way.

Its due to lamp Ballast power supply is faulty,it need to repair or replace otherwise again it will damage Lamp so be careful

If you are a good handyman you can do the following: (1) Go to a hardware store and buy a cheat DVM (digital voltmeter). Go to the other bulb and measure the voltage and write down on paper. Then CAREFULLY remove the bulb and place it where the other one burnt out twice. Measure the voltage the same way. If the two voltages are identical, then it was simply a coincidence, take the burnt bulb and go to the Electronic Parts Store and buy two bulbs (the reason for two is that the other one remaining will also go not before too long). If the voltage is ghigher than the previous reading, take it to the attention of the manufacturer. There is a design error by their engineers and they need to fix it. They most likely will send you a new unit and ask to return the old one, so they can evaluate it. Now when we are talking about volts, we talk about tenths of volts difference. This scheme will also work with LEDs, but the bulb with the lower voltage is the one at fault. CONSTANTIN

changing the bulb isnt going to help. the t.v. is just one big disaster so you might as well rip someone else off just like vivitek has done to all of us. if the new owners tell you theres a problem with the t.v. tell them they must have messed it up during transportation. Thats what vivtek told us. =D

where are you getting your parts from? sounds like someone may be selling you used parts to get more business.
