It could be time to carry out some routine maintenance.
The fault could be dirty fuel or dirt introduced by bad storing and filling practice. Small engines have very small fuel passages and it is important no dirt or moisture enters the fuel system so the fuel can, the spouts, funnels or whatever should be kept in pristine condition by being wrapped or covered in plastic sheeting between uses and it is good practice to never refuel in the rain or in a dusty environment.
I suggest you ensure the air filter and spark plug are in good order and then try to compensate for the fault by making a small adjustment to the fuel mixture by turning the high speed fuel screw a little while the engine is running at speed and at working temperature. Make a note of the current position of the screw slot so it can be returned to its original position if needed. The adjustment needed should be no more than half a turn in either direction but should be a great deal less. If it is more it is time to clean out the fuel system and carb.
Make adjustment of no more than 1/8th of a turn at a time until smooth running is restored. After high speed adjustment some further adjustment could be needed to the idle speed and low speed fuel screw.
