Thank God for the internet. I had the same problem and I googled it and found this site with this solution. It worked fine. Thank you. Like you said, unplug, hold the power button for 60 seconds and replug and turn on. Worked like a charm. Thanks a bunch.

I've had the same problem for the past two months, but after unplugging and replugging a couple of time it would start working again. I talked to tech service and they recommended I unplugg, then press and hold the power button on top the tv for 60 seconds. Then replug and should work. His claim was that it would reset some power circuitry, although it seemed odd to me with the power being unplugged. However, I haven't had the problem for a couple of days now. We'll see.

I have a Plasma TV with black screen and 6 red light flashes.

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

Is the Panasonic TC-P42C2 supposed to have a flashing red light that suggests which board is the problem? If there is no red light, what does it suggest?

Where to get LCD screen for panasonic TC-32LE60 TV ?

Hi there, the only close part you could get is the actual cabinet. the actual screen will have to be shipped by the manufacture itself. these screens are filled with a liquid that is dangerous and has to be installed in a OSHA approved shop.

42" philips plasma

when a television turns off by itself and flashes as you say, it indicates that there is a problem inside the tv. If you keep trying to turn it on you may do more damage. It could be something as simple as a faulty fuse inside. If you have no expierience with electrics I suggest you get it checked out by a professional. I had a similar problem with another tele model and it was the fuse in the back of the tele that needed changing. I did try to this on my own but unfortunatley didn't have the right fuse so i took it to a repair shop and he done it really quickly.

Red Light Flashing 6 times

A 6 blink usually indicates a bad thermal fuse caused by the lamp temperature getting too hot. I strongly suggest replacing the sirrocco fan that mounts on top of the optical block too. Usually this fan gets clogged up with dust so the lamp temperature gets hotter than it should causing the thermal fuse to open up. Replacing the thermal fuse, sirrocco fan and cleaning the dust from the inside and fans will cure this. A Sony authorized servicer should be able to repair this for you. Good Luck
