Question about HP PSC 750 All-In-One InkJet Printer
I ran out of color ink but what I wanted to print needed to be in black anyway...it won't let me print without color being in it. I tried taking it out and it wouldn't print...so I put it back in and it still won't print. Do they both need to be full in order to do any printing??? Any help is appreciated greatly!!
Each cartridge must have a certain amount of ink for the machine to run, even though you only want to print in black and white. Hope this helps.

In both cases be sure using correct ink. Use of generic ink can lead to leakage of catrridge seats do to crossion from inferrior ink quality (per Cannon). Be sure ink in proper locations - see manual. Run the maintenance proceedures: cleaning then print nozzle pattern. If all colors are not proper after two or three cleanings, perform deep cleaning. Print nozzle pattern after each cleaning. This should clear up problem. If not, print head may need replacement.

Are the ink cartridges refilled or compatible? They may be defective.
Are they installed correctly (not in the wrong slots)?
** Note that even if they are replaced it will take SEVERAL pages before the quality returns

Use the Power Purge Function to bleed the line and clear any clog... Make Sure have more ink on hand...
Hold down the menu key. While still holding the menu key, unplug the machine and plug it back in. Do not let go of the key until the machine reboots and the screen says "maintenence". Hit the following keys: 7, 6, 4,black start. The machine will then go into "power purge" or deep clean mode for about 5-7 minutes. When complete hit: 99 to get out of maintanence and reboot. Be sure to have extra ink cartidges on hand as it does use up a lot of ink but this process works the best every time when the printer wont print
