The only thing i know about vacs is if there is no suction its blocked might have sucked up a piece of plastic bag and wraped around the fan hence no air or the screw that holds the fan has come loose take your filters out and turn on you may have sucked up fluid and not known it hence filters are blocked also brushes may seem alright but may be worn under half there fore springs are not at right tentsion if your armiture is black where the brushes run on may not be getting a good contact or if it smells burnt good chance you burnt it out then theres the power switch test with multi tester the check for loose terminals then test the field coils are correct ohms as well

How is a Dyson Cinetic Big Ball supposed to get suction when in the rotating brush mode?

There is a short tube at the bottom and the changeover valve that switches from tools to the floor when you pull the handle back into vacuuming mode. Make sure the valve is switching back and forth smoothly and properly.

The brush quits running, however, the machine still runs like the brush is rotating. Then the brush all of a sudden kicks in and runs then stops.

Hi Janice, it's Jack at Dyson.

DC25 has two motors - one is housed within the Ball and generates the suction, and the second one is mounted within the cleaner head and powers the rotating brush bar. It's possible for the suction motor to continue to run when the brush bar motor is switched off.

Like most Dyson vacuums, DC25's brush bar motor will shut off for protection if something is jamming it. If you're finding your machine's brush bar is running intermittently, it's a good idea to check the cleaner head for any obstructions, and to remove any threads or hair from around the brush bar. Our video guide shows you how:

Dyson Ball DC24 brush turns but is loose and makes a very loud noise. Brush seems to be hitting sides of vacume.

You need a new brush and end cap. The brush and end cap can wear or break in time as they are made of plastic. Spares available on Dyson web site.

When I turn my Dyson ball DC25 vacuum on and engage the brush it makes a screeching noise. I have cleaned the brush and the filters were cleaned a week ago and are in correctly.

Check if the belt still is connected and freely rotating the brush. Dyson vacuum belts are not replaceable. If the belt is going bad, the clutch assembly has to be replaced

I have a dyson roller ball vacuum cleaner DC25. The brush will not turn when I am running the machine. It turns manually' Wally from San Antonio

Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial.

There are a number of reasons why your brush roller has stopped moving. General maintenance to your vacuum is crucial and will help it work at peak performance.

First things first lets focus on the brush roller. Unplug the vacuum and turn it on its side. Look for any noticeable clumps of debris or hair strands that may be caught in the brush roller. Remove these obstructions, probably best to do so with a scissor if it's hair or long pieces of carpet fibers. After removing the debris try manually rotating the brush roller to uncover other hidden clogs. Another thing to take note of is the condition of the bristles on the roll itself. Are they loose or worn down? These are signs that your brush roller is in need of replacing.

While checking out your brush roll you might as well take a look at your vacuums belt. Your belt should be replaced about every three months. After regular usage, the belt will stretch out, lessening the tension on the brush roller. Lesser tension diminishes the brush roller's turn rate and speed. If the belt feels loose then it certainly is affecting your vacuums suction as well as your brush roll not moving at all.

Loss of suction

very simple fix. took me a good hour to figure this out but... first take off your brushhead. via popping the clip so all u have is the circle showing then turn on the vacum using the hose. put the hose over the hole where the brush head goes.. and give it a shake etc to losen up whatever it is u got stuck up in that hose. mine was xmas tree/cat hair mix. which is the death of any vacum lol.. but that noise on the top of the can is cause by suction loss. just use the hose to **** out whatever u got jammed in there and use your finger if u need too. and then no more canister noise.

Rotating brush will not turn on my Dyson DC07

Yes I had the same problem on my animal Dysom. There is a button on the top of the dysom that turns the cacuum on. Right beside that button is another one that turns on and off the brush!!! Good luck!!! I accidently one day bumped that button and couldn't get my brush to work but after troubleshooting it, that was my solution.

Suction loss on dyson animal

Hi.

Keep the axe on hold try this first.

Ok first thing to do is remove & clean the 2 piece premotor filter or purchase new.

Now remove soleplate from bottom of machine to do this rotate the 3 plastic screws to unlock position. Lift sole plate off now remove any blockagers or fluff that may be built up over the brush roller.
Remove hair from brush roll using scissors.

Check short clear hose for blockages & any damage rips or tares if it is damaged purchase new hose.

Now look at belts & rotate brush roller it should turn relatively easy if it is difficult to turn by hand remove the brush roller & pull off the end caps the axle will come out with one of the caps.
Check the roller bearings clean away dust build up replace end caps & axle spin roller holding on to end cap if freely to spin refit back on to machine.

If its stiff to rotate you will need new roller.

Now pull off the 2 inspection ports check them for bits of paper etc especialy the (U) shaped port at bottom rear of machine this can contain pens pencills stones all sorts of items that hinder the suction.

Now check the long flexi hose & metal wand for any obstructions.

If after all this machine is still not working correctly go to this site http://dysonmanuals.llc.nu/

On this site you will find Dyson service manuals covering poor suction, clutch, motor, etc.
