If this is a Ford vehicle it likely is a stripped gear in the blend door motor, which looks like a 4x4" box 1" thick held to the heater plastic box with three or four screws. This part can be ordered online for about $30 and is not difficult to replace on most vehicles.
The wires have a connector that is fairly easy to pinch and pull to release. The little motor box can be unsnapped and opened to view to see if the gear is not engaging or is missing a tooth before ordering the replacement. There will be grease on the gear so have a rag handy to wipe it to be able to inspect for damage. The identical cog gears are extremely difficult to find so don't waste your time trying to replace the little cog that strips out in these.

Heater not blowing hot more like tepid, also temperature gauge never seems to move, can you help please,

Most likely thermostat, however first place to look is the heater hoses once the car has warmed up. If one hose is really hot and the other cold, you have either a stuck heater control valve (if the car has one) or a clogged heater core. if both hoses are luke warm, I would change the thermostat. I would suspect that it is stuck open.

I have a 2000 Grand Jeep Cherokee Laredo (6cyl). It was blowing only cold/luke warm air. I replaced the thermostat. Still blowing the same only now the radiator cap is cold but hoses are hot. ...

It is likely you have air in the system. Park on an incline, take the radiator cap off, start the car, let it warm up until the thermostat opens, fill the radiator until it stops going down. See if that doesn't get you some hot air. If not, try the other steps I have in my post at http://www.fixya.com/cars/r6235876-no_heat_fan_blowing_cold_air . These are generic instructions. If you get stuck or need specific instructions for your car, please get back to me.

Fluctuating engine temp a/c sends out cold air intermittently

Here's the thing. The ECU will shut down AC if the engine temperature is too hot. If the coolant temperature sensor is malfunctioning (lying to the ECU) telling it that the temperature is hotter than it actually is, the computer will turn the AC OFF.

We have an audi a4 2.6cc , the heater only blows cold air we have had a new heater matrix a new water pump and thermostat and a new radiator now it blow luke warm air but not hot, please any ideas

sounds like the thermostat is not functioning correctly? either that or not in at all? thus making the water which would normally warm up quickly, warm up extremely slowly and on really cold days not at all? with a 2.6 engine your car shoudl warm up in record time?
